I see this repeated her all the time so I have to say: This is so untrue and reads like superstition. Fans loved DWAS upon release, and Abracadabra was easily the best reaction a song of Gaga got within the fanbase probably since the BTW days.

Of course a song can still be a hit if fans dislike it and vice-versa, but not being loved by the fanbase is always an hindrance and makes it statistically likelier (but not certain) that it won't be liked by the GP either. 

I'm still not seeing it for TDD but I wish her an ounce of luck

Well the context is different, for The Cure they prefer that mid pop song over anything in Joanne so they embraced it despite it's infinite worse than TDD if we're being honest. I think many fans just salty because she didn't push other mayhem tracks instead. TDD is a very good song imo, not groundbreaking, but most songs from MAYHEM isn't either.

Babes, it's worth noting the recent jump in streams won't be reflected until tomorrow's update. Today's numbers might be a little on the lower side.

 

The real fun begins tomorrow.

 

Anyway all these will change when she debuts an iconic TDD VMAs performance. Waiting for them to switch like f words.
