Well  the jet writing would’ve worked better for ROM I think where there were two fan bases in a a community and sharing things on Twitter. HMH would respond well to a couple of US TV performances (LFS got 2 more weeks charting due to this). Also didn’t Dot on Twitter hint at a vinyl release?

No surprise that pop is serving MR updates, and of course no surprise that AC is (that's normal for any song), but HAC is definitely concerning how it's stalling/already dropping there. And with the AI decreases, it must be big stations that are already dropping it. 

 

However, the AC callout still gives me hope. It's really not bad at all for an AC debut. It's actually pretty good. Gives me hope that the Pop/HAC callouts won't be so horrendous. That's the only chance it has at this point to get a second wave on radio (just like Applause did way back when), since apparently Shazam stats don't matter for this song

The way Shazam alone would be enough for radio to spam another song. Strong digital, Shazam, research on HitPredictor, and now TTH and it’s still not enough for them. There’s a reason Gaga is pivoting to acting as she moves through her 30s, she knows pop music’s ageism with women is real  

 

Thats why I do wish she’d go the Beyoncé route with her releases in the sense of doing visuals and all before and releasing it as a package, take it or leave it. Singles become harder and harder to be successful with at her age sadly. 

So this weekend is another holiday? Even more ugly updates incoming

I still think she could eek one more *hit* lead single and pop era, because going Top 20 on Pop with a movie ballad is still something, but after that she definitely needs to give it up and go the more artisanal route. Stations clearly aren't going to put her in any more than a 6-spin-a-day rotation no matter what the song is.

We will see what happens. The slowing down on radio generally means call-outs are upon us, if it starts getting -0.3m updates on pop/HAC that means a bad debut is coming ala SL. I agree about AC, had the response been troubling they’d have dropped it, instead it’s still gaining. I think below 40 net positive is when they drop a song, both Shallow and HMH debuted w/ 43

Exactly. Like she can still get the odd smasha, but focusing on getting quick hits or pandering to radio makes no sense at this point. She might as well just focus on building her streaming audience by releasing unique albums that have 2-3 clear single choices with general appeal.

I genuinely do believe that Chromatica was planned to be to her last shot/attempt at a commercial era and snatch another hit post-ASIB which is why she went out of her comfort zone with it. But things didn't go their way and they didn't milk it although she had lots of (cancelled) plans. Baffling but it is what it is now.

 

 

Also I personally cannot wait for the weight of chart success to be lifted of her shoulders. Success can come in many different forms even when you don't expect it. Miss thing should start making strong albums that showcase her talent/versatility and **** US radio.
