But that's the problem on expecting something to happen on her birthday… there's a chance we'll end up frustrated. 

Realistically though I think something has to come really soon or they risk conflicting schedules with Pretty Ugly.

Her birthday would make sense though if she was smart it also the anniversary of self titled 

 

I know she will probably just post pics on vacation but she been hinting she will make a post   about self titled next 

 

that tik tok rumor is probably coming from a blind item that's rumored to be about Hilary music comeback 

 

I dont believe it record label are not gonna sign someone if they are unhappy with the music especially with the music industry currently struggling due the economy

Hi guys! Long time Hilary fan here. I don't think I've ever posted in her base thread, but I've been a fan since late 2002 (when we first got the Disney Channel) and go all the way back to the HilaryFan forum days. I'm so excited for this next chapter of her musical career!

 

She needs to announce or release the single ASAP. I don't think a long break between the Atlantic announcement and the release is a good idea. People are hyped for her return, but if they wait too long that excitement might start to wane. The Rolling Stone article today is a good sign. It seems like her team are trying to keep her on people's minds, which hopefully means the single's release is imminent.

 

I'd like to see the single on Friday, and an anniversary post for self-titled on Sunday.

 

Speaking of self-titled, was there ever a definitive answer to why the second pressing (and all future releases) feature alternate mixes of Do You Want Me?, Weird, Hide Away, Cry, Haters, Rock This World, and Jericho? I played the second pressing/streaming version on my walk over the weekend and overall the entire album sounds so much better. Is it possible the version available on release day in 2004 was a partially unmixed/unmastered version of the album?

This was Hollywood records doing they were unhappy with the album from the start and were out to sabotage this 

 

They felt the album was too dark and wanted another metamorphosis 

 

so the album was remixed  to make it sound poppier and shipped back out 

 

but the sales die off so Hollywood records refuse to release more singles fly 

 

although the getaway someone watching over me where gonna be the next singles with proper music videos 

The Rolling Stones article posted earlier is such a cute read. I really feel like she's getting a cover and story once the music starts rolling out. 

The Rolling Stone PR has been great! We need more editorials like that, I recall Vulture being very pro-Duff last time around. 

 

I agree we do need something to be announced and dropped soon to ride this wave (and not just because I want it now). It's all about timing if they're looking to leverage a true commercial comeback. But trusting the process

Wait this is really interesting! I'm only familiar with that ugly Jericho mix currently on Spotify when there's a properly mastered one on YouTube with a longer intro. I didn't know there are better-mixed/mastered versions of other songs

Jericho has a third version, right? I remember one with the sound of seagulls in the beginning of the song.

I've always LOVED this version of Little Voice. When I heard the album version for the first time, it was so jarring. I remember downloading the rip of the Ryan Seacrest recording and having such slow internet that it cut off towards the last chorus.

My favorite version of RTW. Another 10/10 in her discography. I really really loved all the adlibs. She was definitely feeling it that day in the studio.

You're right, I hope they start shooting the show in the first trimester of 2026, so she has the rest of this year to release the first single AND the music video with the second single and the new album coming once filming for Pretty Ugly is done!
