this isn't gonna happen but I can see Ego working with a country remix...plus the lines about walking a certain way because you can back it up feels very cowboy, as is the idea of "packing".

also overall the costumes are better night 2!

That opening outfit ate Night 1 up SO BAD! 

I don't mind if she adds in her deep album tracks. Just as long as she scraps all of Black Is King.

hm well none of them would work particularly well with the theme, however, we still deserve to hear a live rendition of Spirit (Dubai doesn't count).

I wouldn't blink if she did these 4 songs only for LA Night 2, and never went back to them for the rest of the shows. While appreciated for their novelty, I think the transitions could be made a lot smoother to really sell the segment as more than just a crowd pleaser. It felt a bit like the jukebox part of the Mind Control interlude right before AHAP at the RWT.

 

I personally enjoyed the way Acts 4 and 5 played out on Night 1, and musically, I feel they're some of the strongest medleys Bey's done on tour.

 

For example, I much preferred the flow of 2H2H into SHB despite the fact it's actually Tyrant on the album. It's one of those changes that shows how masterful Bey is at sequencing because both versions are just as strong with the proper lead-in. The full Jolene interlude is also fantastic, so I'd be sad if it's solely this abridged version going forward.

 

But I'm happy she's playing around with things. I've always felt tours should be a living, breathing experience that morphs across its run

The only song I can see work in the setlist would possibly be Nile. But that's really it. And that would be for like an interlude or sumn.

I'm just saying we still have not had a proper live performance of it...and imo it's one of her best ballads.

I think while u are valid in what u state, the Pros of the hits medley just completely outweigh your concern: Crowd engagement and GP service. There's at least half of the stadium that casually listens to Bey and do not follow her like that, yet they knows shes a great performer and they want to have a good time.

The euphoria of singing along in a stadium is super engaging + it increases the attention for the new parts right away because you go from observer -> participant -> observer instead of "only" being an observant.

 

Its just like university: When u constantly just sit there and listen to profs, your focus and attention wanes and u dont pay attention anymore. However if ur exposed to interactive and productive sessions in between, you're more prone to maintain a better level of attention.

I hope the different setlist theory isn't true if that means there's other versions of the show with no hits. Yesterday was close to perfect and made the hardcore and casual fans happy.

Yes, but I gotta commend her on being creative about it: She used the elements of SL ("now wait"), Irreplaceable (last "you're irreeeeeplaaaceaableee") and CIL perfectly to segway into the next song. It flows extremely well and IIWAB was the perfect closer to the Hit segment

i do ask myself; if she really has multiple different setlists and does big surprises and stuff like that, which one will she use in the end if she films the tour (which she'll obviously do but who knows if she'll release it this time )
