Need this to be true... and she can interpolate Rocket in there too.

I didn't say it wasn't great but it was an odd choice. she clearly doesn't have the demand or fanbase there for 2 nights. if it weren't the opening city, she'd play just 1 night, realistically.

I love that LA's up first this time :)

to be fair I think it's pretty common to open a tour in a "random" place so the show is well-oiled when it hits the big cities. for that reason I thought it was odd to open in LA of all places lol

I wondered if her kids were still in school until sometime in May, when she leaves LA or something

I don't really want the kids to be part of this show tbh but Blue being in most of the RWT stops and in the Beyonce Bowl show makes me assume she'll probably pop up again at the CCT. If that's true then I hope it's just for Texas, with the little 'one step to the middle, Blue' line becoming canon for the live performance.

Also, one thing that confuses and bothers me a bit is the pretence that the RWT was five years in the making. That would mean it was being developed in 2018? But we also know there was a Gift World Tour in the works, and that Cowboy Carter was being recorded way before Renaissance. So like...what part of the RWT was being developed since 2018? I'm assuming just the tank bit? And maybe the stage? Regardless, it would be safe to assume that elements of this upcoming tour were also being developed a very long time ago, which means Bey has had seven years to sit on these performance concepts and nail the choreo. I'll be curious to see how fully realised and well conceived this tour will be from the jump (we have seen rushed tours like OTR II struggle to hold up to her other shows, while the FWT remains the gold standard of Bey-as-well oiled machinery).

I think you are overstating her planning acumen a bit. The way I see it, Bey is a visionary first. She imagines things, is VERY creative, sees opportunity and chance to scale up and thinks very specifically about elements she wants to include in her art. It's all more like a cloud of ideas, a very first concept.

HOWEVER, when it comes to the actual planning of these very detailed elements, I perceive her to be quite last-minute and ever-changing.

So things like choreos or so probably fall into elements she's just looked into this past year, but the general idea of having 3 tours for instance and a specific setup - this has emerged 7 years ago.

I agree,  but I think I'm more saying I'm confused at her own statements that that tour was five years in the making, given the fairly credible rumour that all three acts were originally meant to release within a year with a trilogy tour taking place for when the RWT was planned. It's just an interesting / confusing narrative parkwood has put out there, when we know there's been a lot of indecision and changes behind the scenes

This is 1) not a rumour, but rather fan conjecture that has been repeated incessantly 2) therefore, not credible and certainly not realistic or at all plausible :deadbanana2:

I really don't know why this one theory aggravates me more than any other lol, but I just find it so devoid of logic. In what world was she ever going to release 3 LPs in the span of 12 months? Is she Brockhampton?

Oh agreed, their narrative has holes, but then again the general concept of having a Trilogy of albums that reclaim former Black genres - that most certainly has been an idea she's worked on these past 7 years.

if we're being honest, this is the tour that all three would work best in. Irreplaceable is basically a country song, Single Ladies interpolates perfectly into Buckiin (and the 'stanky' version) fits with the theme of the tour, and Halo is due for a little live comeback

why would you wish for her to drop Crazy in Love (her most iconic song, always a crowd-pleaser) just to bring back a song as tired as Single Ladies :rip:

If I Were A Boy and Halo feel much more likely, but i'd love more left-field picks like Broken Hearted Girl and Hello

that used to be the case, but the way people consume media now, opening night matters a lot. reviews, livestreams, overall conversation. especially for Renaissance World Tour, which marked her first tour performance in 5 years.

LA makes a lot of sense — celebs and influencers will go and give her free promo, closed roof and she can come on stage at 9 (after it's dark out).

I believe she wanted to release the albums annually. She literally said that we can expect a "thrilling abundance of music", which to me reads as a lot of music in a short span of time. It would explain why she never intended to give much thought to singles other than the debut singles, since she never intended to give more than 1 year of time to each album. However, with the pandemic hitting and Renaissance becoming the success it has become, plans changed and evolved to this bi-annual concept of 1 year album, 1 year tour, 1 year album, 1 year tour, 1 year album, Trilogy Tour.

abundance of music → quote from June 2022 interview

act i released → July 2022

rwt tour informally announced/teased at Art Gala → october 2022

Is the assumption then that the plan for a Ren-specific tour suddenly materialized between July and October? Or is it more likely that she intended to release an album, tour it, and then take some time away before releasing the next one, as she's literally done for every other record?

When did I say I wanted Crazy in Love chopped?? That song should be in every live show she ever does imo.

also BHG and Hello are definitely cute but there's no chance they'll be on the setlist tbh

The idea that she was going to release all three albums within such quick succession is very apparently wrong, each era has had specific timeline.

It's actually insider tea from DJ Louie XIV - he spoke about it with Ira III on his Patreon Pop Pantheon channel (and both of them have also got multiple industry friends who were in the visuals). I do my research !!

Its also not totally unbelievable to drop three genre spin offs in one year given the boost Taylor Drake and Ariana received from dropping projects in rapid succession

The insider tea that they discussed on the podcast (I don't know whether it's true. Just that it was discussed) was that Parkwood didn't expect Rennie to smash as much as it did. So they decided to let Bey's work marinade and gain steam and then reworked the tour into something Rennie specific.

I agree that it is a strange move to drop the trilogy in quick succession. But this is also the woman who dropped 27 videos and 16 tracks on iTunes with no promo.

its also a fairly good stunt for an act who's sales were dwindling around the time the trilogy was conceived (EIL and The Gift were rocky for her)

Now im not saying this is all true, im just saying it was an insider backed rumour

it would also explain why Bey already had vinyl pressings and CD copies of Act II: Beyince ready to drop. She already knew by the point the vinyls were pressed that the album would be the second act of the trilogy (hence the sash on the original cover) — so why would she rush to get the album pressed if it wasn't gonna come out fairly soon after?

point being - we assumed that the original Beyonce vinyls were pressed because she wanted it to be act I, but the album art itself proves that it was actually because it was originally meant to be released quite soon after Renaissance
