girl we're all fans in here there's no need for excuses we can be honest with each other lol. the gp shipped the album back and so did most fans, it is what it is. you don't wanna use streams in this argument ? fine, look at the sales, it will take years for cc to reach 2x platinum in the states atp, the album barely charts, half of this base vanished and never came back since the album release, and we're talking die hard fans. look at most people rn wishing the tour wasn't for CC or who want to move on from it asap. if day one super stans in here don't care all that much, you can't seriously expect me to believe that locals and casual fans do. also cuff it charted twice as long as texas did and will be at 900m streams by summer, texas will take ages to get there.

 

also no one mentioned quality or said the album wasn't good, it just quite obviously isn't top 3 (or even top 5) for most fans and casuals alike, all the signs are there, idk why you're acting like that wasn't the case

If she did normal promo for Bodyguard and Levi's Jeans nobody would bat an eye about the quality of the album. You can't expect an artist to jump into a completely different genre, opposite of their forte, and expect people to care. Streams and sales are smoke and mirrors, paying off radios and streaming services

I agree with what you're saying but had to correct that "These Walls" was just a single in Belgium with a French remix  so it's an album track with 89m streams lol. the version featuring the Belgian singer has over 11m streams so it adds up to just over 100m anyway

Houdini — 779 million

Training Season — 523 million

Illusion — 240 million

 

looking much better than Cowboy Carter streams even with her flop album

Really shows how the formula they use to calculate sales from streaming is not very accurate. CIL is the bigger hit surely.

Not sure she cares about success that much, but as for buzz/impact I think she's relying on the cultural impact and message of the music for that. 
 

Like imo, CC made more of an impact culturally and socially than it did commercially and that was her intention. If she cared more about sales/streams/charts she knows she could just do a performance or two or drop visuals and that would follow
