Honestly THE set Act ii up VERY nicely. All Bey really has to do is lift a finger to drum up some excitement a week prior to release and she’ll be just fine. If the film is coming with the album, we’ll have nothing to worry about!

 

I want to take the time to appreciate the genius vocal production on THE and 16C! The melodies, harmonies, the layering, etc>>> I hope we got a lot of fun, catchy, melodic ear worms!

Renaissance did 89k in its second week, so Act II would need to do much better to beat Kanye's first week. Then again just because Vultures 1 pulled 148k doesn't mean volumes 2 and 3 will.

Though I do "think" there for sure is a behind-the-scenes handshake agreement the big acts all have with each other to never drop on the same day (it's bad for business brand-wise).

 

As for Future, he rarely does big numbers without a lead-in hit featuring Drake. So we're fine on that front. 

 

For all the moaning, I'm fairly confident even a fumbled release from Bey would still open at #1. It's just at the risk of being with so-so numbers. I guess we'll see.

It all comes down to Beyoncé herself. Her biggest strength is physical copies and those rapper's weakest point is physical copies so she has the advantage. 

 

But Beyoncé always had higher first week sales than both of them isn't it?!

This feels like 2013 when Miley, Gaga, Katy, Riri and Nicki could not outdo B's 2011 4 with 310K. In fact to date none of them were able to cross 300K. 

 

And fast forward now, Billie, Olivia, SZA, Ariana + plus countless others like Ed, Kanye, Bruno couldn't even outdo Renaissance first week. B came from The Gift and they came from their peak eras. 

Although the country album may not have as good of replay value as Renaissance there is a lot more potential for first time listeners. Not just white people but people forget Mexicans/latinos love love country music. If she PROMOTES it right the week of release it will be bigger than Renaissance opening numbers.

I’m not surprised Bey always comes out on top. Talent always wins - as a certain fanbase once harped on about. They just didn’t realise they weren’t talking about their girl. 

And I do suspect that auto play has a lot to do with CIL blowing up. These people haven’t gone out of their way to listen to Beyoncé in a decade. So now their algorithm thinks they’re beyhives and it autoplays her most popular songs after they stream Texas. It happens to me all the time with other artists. I’m glad CIL is getting its love again because other stans and even Hives were starting to treat it like it’s a bad/overhyped song and ranking Toxic and Bad Romance over it.

that is where you are wrong...her country album will have more replay value than. renee because it will be more accessible to the ears than renee. Renee is a specific taste that not everybody liked (even hardcore fans)...her country album will be very lyric intensive and that always gets people to listen.

That's the point though, there aren't any sales. Digital sales are the pits, so they're not going to make too much of an impact and we have no idea if there will be physicals available on release. Which is why I think this will be around 200k.

Crazy In Love is widely regarded as a classic. No one in the real world is comparing it to Toxic or Bad Romance (which I personally think are both classics tbh) 

 

It feels like some of you are constantly trying to create parameters for her success.  Beyonce is not some niche artist -- she is a hugely popular pop star and just like any other a smash hit boosts her catalog.

Bey and her team know the industry climate. Which is why I think they have something huge coming to boost the numbers. 

 

I really do think act ii and the visuals for both acts are coming that weekend.

I agree and Renaissance would’ve been a test to guage how to roll out future projects. 
 

Not too sure about the visuals coming out so soon but i’m not sure why there’s so much concern about physical copies.

Some came pretty close: Donda did 310k in 4 days and SZA 318k both streaming and digital only 

if TDE stops paying SZA can do 330k with her next studio album but you can tell those acts don’t care about physicals like bey does
