Precisely why being the highest-grossing Black artist of all time is her crowning achievement, imo. No one will ever equal it. Funnily enough Jay is the 2nd and he's still hundreds of millions away from matching it  let's hope she doesn't take his camel ass on tour with her ever again

And also incredible numbers on AM... But that's how streaming works. Bad Bunny also "only" did 260k with 140M first day and having the first album ever in history to have 4/5 days above 100M and the biggest 1st week ever. Streaming is weird. Kendrick doesn't have physicals : no cds, no vinyls, I actually find his numbers impressive and reconforting for the state of the industry... If the projection holds up.

I mean we live in an era now where 100-200K is normal for a big name artist. Anything above that is extremely well.

Im here for her doing 350-400k. That would be amazing considering her love for self-sabotage and the long hiatus since last SOLO studio album, we might have to settle for 200k since who knows what else she will come up with

The music industry was much different when Lemonade released as to how music was consumed. TIDAL exclusivity boosted the digital sales on iTunes in the first couple weeks since that was the only other option and then came the physicals. Streaming adoption accelerated so fast since then, digital sales are dead, and her catalog is kind of falling behind on Spotify as time goes on. Just consequences for the sabotagé. I don’t think her physical sales will be as strong this time around because they just aren’t a thing anymore. If she were to release vinyls, then maybe.

 

I also felt a demographic shift as to who stuck around post-Lemonade. The yts and Latin pop fans been complaining about how her music has gotten “too urban” and they want the generic pop IASF Bey back. People were also annoyed with the Jay Z package deal. Plus ageism in the industry is just natural for female artists.  

 

I’m expecting 300-400k, I hope I’m wrong though and she does 600k+ again. 

You guys are setting yourselves up for disappointment. I think she’s doing 100k, 150k max

May sound pessimistic but expecting 250K+ is insane given how the industry has changed since 2016.

 

I love to see 300-500K but Bey would really have to snap. She can do it the issue is does she want to.

I think 300k would be the ceiling and she’d need vinyls and collectors album packaging for that. Physicals are dead unless you’re Adele with the 40+ soccer moms or Taylor with the biggest hardcore stans with all the time in their hands. The Hive didn’t even bother judging by EIL, Homecoming, and The Gift and now they’re in their 30s with busy careers.  She isn’t the streaming force she used to be on Spotify. She’s probably a lot bigger on Apple Music as users tend to be urban dominated and older while Spotify owns the Gen Z demographic where artists like Billie/Olivia thrive.

Exactly. Its so difficult to tell due to how the music industry is set up now. Then theres the stress on what the material would sound like, how fans respond to it, and if she gonna pull another Tidal only situation.

No more surprise albums. Sound and genre will matter, no one wants to hear Freedom 3.0 and social justice themes. She needs to serve *****, sex, and titties out like it’s literally why she smashed for so long pre-Lemonade thanks to the gays and girls in the club. No more braggadocio rap singing, I’ve been sick to my stomach since Top Off.
