I thought it was the standard for most stadium tours, dates are spread out 3-5 days apart mainly bc production, equipment traveling, and other scheduled events.

I'm currently watching her I Am... Tour and it's crazy to think she would do these dates back to back to back... I don't think it's healthy for an artist.

And don't get me started on this Freakum Dress performance that makes me think that's why she ****** up her knee!!

Honestly from where I was last time, my view of both the stage and screen were unbeatable. It was like being at the best cinema on earth. I want to replicate that

Do you all think Beyoncé took note of the "hater" perception that she's too queen/goddess-like and therefore unrelatable and adjusted it a bit? Or just a coincidence that she's SO abundantly joyful and down to Earth this tour?

 

Because part of me suspects, the perfectionist that she is, that she's adjusted her image just slightly enough to humour the people who maybe didn't get the goddess image. I don't think she cares per se, but I do think she enjoys proving people wrong. To me it seems like that image served its purpose in the Lemonade and on-wards eras when she was being branded both by her work and her image as a legend. Now that this is pretty undeniable, she can go back to a more humble approach. She doesn't need to be FIERCE-FIERCE-FIERCE, she can also have fun. Her RWT Crazy in Love choreography is just that, her BEAMING instead of projecting the sexy/sultry goddess that we've seen in the Super Bowls, etc.

 

The fact that she basically walks out on stage by herself without a big and dramatic lead-up like other tours and then does ballads points to this slight change in overall image. imo, the entrance sets the stage (literally) for the rest.

Probably. I may be wrong and I'd love to hear from someone who was in that section, maybe it's not so bad after all. But I'd prefer to be a little farther back.

It's a mixture of things 

1. She feels more comfortable in her skin (pun intended) this tour, and seems much happier/less stressed than usual

2. she isn't doing as much choreo, so interacting with fans helps the show be more engaging

3. she is aware of the perception that she doesn't interact with fans/show her personality and wants to change that

I guess? I mean it's certainly a fun album but there is also an inherent seriousness to it as well and nothing about the album art or anything we've seen prior to this has been centred on "fun". The visuals we've seen have been sophisticated, slick, and even at her most colourful (Vogue UK announcement spread) still rather austere and emotionless. It's not hard to have imagined a version of this tour that was much more strict insofar as emotions and more focused on a sort of untouchable pop image. As mentioned, I think her basically strutting out by herself with all the lights up is her most humble entrance...ever? I mean even on her first tour, before she had anything close to a "Queenly" image, she was being carried to the stage Cleopatra-style.

 

I'm not accusing her of switching it up to please people, but do think that Beyoncé is a MASTER of her image and knows when and how to ever so slightly change things in order to accomplish whatever her goal is, which now seems to be having fun with the fans and GP in an era where so far there has been not much communication/shared experience. To me it reads possibly like: I know what the critiques about me are, and I'm going to show you that is not the case.

Every artist listens to feedback from their audience (and dedicated haters). The album theme itself is very happy, celebrating life post-pandemic peak and her late Uncle. Some of those shady remarks prob influenced her a bit on tour to show she can be personable/human and still put on a typical Bey-production.

well said... and I agree, I don't think it's explicitly that she wants to change a perception but that it fits in to a larger picture as well.

Yes this makes sense. It does feel like a rather stark departure from how hands-off and detached she has been from the album/music, so maybe that's also it. Either way I am so glad to see she is having fun. Sometimes with all the ferocity you can't tell. I remember when I saw her in 2009 I thought she seemed upset, but...she was probably just in the Sasha-Zone.

Without elaborating on other points made by others, I fully believe that she has.

 

Beyonce is VERY in tune with us online, she knows what we talk about, and how we feel about things, she references it often.  I do think she takes our concerns and truly address them in some capacities, or she has a team that monitors her online fandom, and adjusts to that.  For anyone to deny that, it is strange.  Do I think she cares what we think? Absolutely, BECAUSE she's such a perfectionist.  Do I think she adjusts the way she wants to do what she wants to do, and display her art because of us?  No. 

 

I know for sure her team must watch and monitor us here, for instance, when Partition was blocked for months and months (while it was a single) on YouTube due to age restriction, I finally complained about it, about her team not fixing the issue, and the following day, after months, it was resolved.  Things like that have happened.

Ya I definitely think she must have a team dedicated to monitoring how she is perceived in order at the very least, to know. Her mentioning that focus group for IASF that said they don't like black-and-white photography is a hint towards such a thing (though a bit different), BUT now that she's in full control with her own production company and after having worked with people on her brand before, I can't imagine they simply don't keep track at all about how the internet talks about her. Whatever conclusion or decision she wants to draw is up to her...like, still using black-and-white photography to prove them wrong, but ya it does seem to me like she's aware and that it's not just a complete coincidence that she's a bit more personable on stage than she has been in the past. And as you said, she is a perfectionist. If there is one area that she could improve, she's going to take the chance to do so.
