I do believe the Grammys cutoff dates are a part of the release strategy.

 

Renaissance will be valid for the 2023 Grammys. She will release act 2 in early 2023 so that the promo for it can coincide with the 2023 Grammys. Act 2 will be nominated for the 2024 ceremony which will be more lowkey to avoid overexposure. Then she will release act 3 in September 2023 on her birthday so that she can extend the era to the 2025 Grammys.

We built Sandcastles (when we pretended to have a great rollout ahead) that washed away (after the album got released)
