OT: I'm still all for getting rid of bundles altogether but I guess something is better than nothing.

BB fails again  why would you NOT make changes to tour bundle rules... You have so many frauds going #1 because of tours yet no one is actually consuming their album  ridiculous

 

They need to completely remove bundles in general, but they won't because they need these old pop stars to chart so it can make for cute headlines

That’s what’s they’re changing. Artists now have to offer the t shirt separately (at a lower price from the bundle) for purchase.

While I do see how ticket pricing pretty much circumvent the rule, the rules changes are meant to reflect buyer desire to listen to the music.

 

If you're buying a concert ticket, you are already in effect buying the artists' music.

 

That's not the case with buying merch.

Well but that's where legacy acts get more benefited. People don't go to see Madonna in tour because of Madame X for example.

But it’s different with live shows because a tour almost ALWAYS is coincided with the new album being promoted so you’re gonna like that artists newest album if you’re seeing that iteration of their act. Looking at who your fave (she’s mine too I’m not coming for you) you should be aware of that. The merch bundle adjustment is absolutely perfect but the jury is still out on tours in my opinion. Even if it’s nosebleeds It’s still an indication of consumer interest. Whereas buying a bandana and a sweater shouldn’t count as two album sales

You're not just buying the music, you're buying a music experience, one that includes music that's not identical to the music on the album. Buying a concert ticket does not reflect a desire to buy an album's music - if people wanna buy the music on an album then they'd buy the album.
