Thought this would be interesting. It's definitely an incomplete timeline, but I just wanted to highlight some of the major points as streaming continues to grow. Some things shocked me, like Billboard including streaming on the Hot 100 since last decade.

 

Music Streaming Timeline

- January 2000: Pandora is launched.

- February 14, 2005: YouTube is launched.
- August 11, 2007: Billboard begins incorporating on-demand streams into the Hot 100.

- October 2008: SoundCloud is launched.

- October 7, 2008: Spotify is launched.

- June 16, 2009: Vevo is launched.

- January 17, 2013: Billboard begins incorporating web radio streams into the Hot 100.

- February 20, 2013: Billboard begins incorporating video streams into the Hot 100.

- May 9, 2013: RIAA begins incorporating streams into song certifications (at 100:1).

- July 12, 2014: The Official Charts Company (UK) begins incorporating streaming into the UK Singles Chart.

- November 24, 2014: Billboard begins incorporating streams into the Billboard 200.

- March 1, 2015: The Official Charts Company (UK) begins incorporating streaming into the UK Albums Chart.

- March 30, 2015: Tidal is launched.

- June 30, 2015: Apple Music is launched.

- November 12, 2015: YouTube Music is launched.

- February 1, 2016: RIAA begins incorporating streams into album certifications and modifies song certification rates (150:1 for songs/1500:1 for albums).

- October 12, 2016: Amazon Music Unlimited launch.

- March 13, 2017: Pandora Premium is launched.

- June 29, 2018: Billboard begins incorporating readjusted streaming ratios for free/paid streams.

We had streaming in the early 2000s. Britney actually set streaming records on AOL Music with the launch of Boys and that used to be a big deal (Beyonce did it with Deja Vu and Shakira did it with Hips Don’t Lie).

Earlier than almost everyone else actually, Italy/UK started adding streams in 2015, Germany in 2016 and France in 2017.

OP should give a shoutout to Sweden's charts (Sverigetopplistan), which started incorporating streams in September 2010 - years earlier than anyone else!
