I'm honestly shocked by their success. They were never THAT big, even at their peak, to justify this huge comeback

not a rock fan so I've never heard of them tbh

Sameee  they debuted with over 500k+ with their last album in 2005. So thats pretty impressive tbh. But still, I have hope tho maybe they will do ~100k. And we hope that Taylors 2nd week drop isn't that big

Their last two albums opened with 500k+ copies. They have a huge fanbase. Their stats might not hold up in the long run but the opening will be huge.

Its so hard to predict since, as you said, their last album came out like 13 years ago. But they have a really strong, loyal fanbase and their old albums pulled good numbers this week after being uploaded to iTunes and streaming platforms.  I think their numbers will be somewhere between 200k-300k tbh. 

 

Taylor’s will depend on the opening #s. Reputation did 256k without being on streaming services and sales climate was better, unlike Lover which will be available everywhere in a more terrible sales climate. She could do around the same #s so it will probably be a close battle.  

I thought TOOL was an acronym for a song/album, not the actual band.  I haven't heard about them in like over a decade.

Why wouldn't they just wait until Friday?  Tool's demand is there, to they should maximize that for the rest of us Active/Hard Rock to borderline Metal music fans.

I think it has alot to do with the fact that there really isn't much real rock music out there today...There's a real void for rock in the music scene today.

And their album passed Lover in pre-order section. I think it is the first album to do so since the pre-order of Lover. started

Their last album did 563k the first week in the US in 2006 so they will probably do big pure sales numbers again.

They could definitely do 500k plus

I tried listening to their disco, but whoo boy, the drum-bass-guitar only 10min long songs are not for me.
