The way you booted the biggest rap blockbuster of them all still sending me. I bet @MP2K would host that, and might even allow the white devil back in.

So which is your top priority? The one where we take Janet to Kinko's?

Any chance to pretend Marsha doesn't exist, I take!

I'm fairly open on the order I get through them tbh. The last three I've done since returning from hiatus have required coming up with song selections, so I'd lean towards prioritising doing the albums-based ones personally, at least for a bit.

The 2025 electronic albums rate probably wouldn't go ahead until after TW2025 had wrapped up at the earliest, so that can go a bit further down the list. Ultimate Other Janets and [redacted] Makes the Woman would be the preferred ones to do next - in either order! (Job-hunting might also eat up a good chunk of my time immediately post-IMs 2, so shall have to see what there's a gap in the rate market for once I've sorted that out gakgkj.)

    we also have @Graffiti @bestfiction @Démodé @HonourableVomit @Mezzanine @popmusicisdead @Veckatimest @sunbathinganimal @Suilen @The7thStranger @Eeveelution @conatus @Graves @theblackestday . All huge

  • This is ******* me up       Yeah and it was specifically in the context of "albums that I can't believe I sat myself through but rates were still fun!"

I'll tentatively put my name down next to 2023 MtW (if the demand is there idk)

I'd consider hosting TW2025 and / or 1998 MtW too but the lineups would have to be workshopped a little no shade.

Other than teaming up with connie, I'm keeping my schedule free to do the Ayumi rate I promised the j-poppers early next year.

Spoiler

Still down for the Toni rate tho.

I’ve actually never been the traffic cop here, but Ace usually tries to have a mix of albums and singles rates going at the same time for variety.

Maybe with a revived interest in non-English rates, a 'New' Francophone Wave rate with Angele, Vendredi sur Mer, Aya Nakamura, Clara Luciani, Yseult and whatnot (debut or breakthrough albums in Aya's and Yseult's cases) would have some support.

I urge you to listen to Klo Pelgag. You will include her in a heartbeat.

Vendredi could get the boot

I will, but Vendredi has her shooters here at least. Not sure if Clara has any.

Some more ideas that would never work on ATRL!

2000: The Marshall Mathers LP vs. Country Grammar vs. Hot Shot vs. Voodoo vs. Sound Loaded (just generally ignoring R. Kelly’s existence here and everywhere)

2001: The Blueprint vs. 8701 vs. Invincible vs. Escape vs. Room For Squares (and add “Love and Theft” for shits and giggles)

2002: The Eminem Show vs. Nellyville vs. Justified vs. Sea Change vs. The Rising (or American IV)

2003: Get Rich or Die Tryin’ vs. Speakerboxxx vs. The Love Below vs. The Black Album vs. Heavier Things (or keep it fully among the rappers with Jackpot or Street Dreams instead)

2004: Confessions vs. The College Dropout vs. Smile vs. (ugh, I guess) Encore vs. (do we need to acknowledge country here?) Live Like You Were Dying  or When the Sun Goes Down

I know these are dumb, but this is such a fun exercise!

Some more Makes the Man rate ideas that are never happening!

Also, please make sure to add Ladies of Lilith Fair to the niche rates list. I need it to happen so bad.

Maybe I missed it but who's in the lineups for LOLF again?

Part 1- Sarah McLachlan, Suzanne Vega, Sheryl Crow, Tracy Chapman, Fiona Apple, Jewel?

Part 2- Liz Phair, Erykah Badu, Des'ree, Missy Elliott, Dido?

Part 3- Mya, Monica, India Arie, Nelly Furtado, Christina Aguilera?

Are there overlapping releases?

I haven’t actually gotten into planning it out. I just want someone to host an UOG-style rate with the all the main Lilith Fair ladies! I think pitting the Sarah McLachlan essentials against the Sheryl Crow essentials agains the Jewel essentials would be so fun.

The Rants of a Tradwife will inevitably clock out before we're even finished with the bottom 20, no matter how many pieces of plastic it's responsible for polluting the oceans with

I say do it. Love a common enemy!
