Speaking of dicography rates, we were talking about an Ayumi Hamasaki discography rate to keep the J-pop revival going. Sometime after Miss Suilen finishes up her Koda rate I would imagine. It'd have the be split into parts too, since these girls have absolutely mammoth discographies, but what say you, sis?

I'm not particularly enthused by Sufjan and Lana's albums to want to host that rate... maybe if it were 2015 sadly. It would impact my ability if I'm being honest.

We need to do SOMETHING to bring people together.

 

It can't just be "discography" this and "singles" that - rates are meant to be COMMUNAL, not siloed! 

@Ace Reject hey, question can you pin my rate, so it can stay on top at least until the last day of August? Cuz people don't know about this rate at all and I don't want to pospone it or do a hiatus. Thank you 

 

My two cents - versus rates are fun and good for introducing people to new music they might not otherwise listen to...

 

BUT !! rate hosts also don't wanna do all that work for something that will pull less than 10 participants. The threads never move, most of the scores are ties, it all feels like a big waste of time.

 

I think aiming slightly lower with vs stuff is maybe the way to go. 3, maybe a max of 4 albums. Safe choices to warm the audience back up to them. Pop girlies and lower tier divas.

 

Like the old Brit v Bey v Gaga rates.

I totally get it - it can become untenable for some, and so many people don't want to try anything new!

It's a shame about Ro turning out to be... you know. A Kylie / Jessie / RM sequel rate would've been cute otherwise.

 

Maybe RAYE or, god forbid, Ava could fill a slot with the two ladies.

Also, we could wait a little bit for Sabrina to release her album and then throw her, Chappell, and Tinashe (stay with me now!) in for a TikTok Girl Summer rate.
