Oh so in which case some other format would gain. But because it's a blood bath across, it's a audience adjustment. Got it. Thanks

Yes, plus you'd see an unusual change of spins (since it's based on the number of plays a song receives, regardless of how big the station is, etc), and today everything behaved as usual. You're welcome.

Listenership down during the pandemic. Kind of drastic AI adjustment

No. 1 song on pop went from 70 something million AI to 50 something, around a 30% drop.

If Neilsen had a similar change, we're going to start seeing even MORE #1 debuts on the Hot 100 now

This is not a panel change, all formats were affected, so this is a major adjustment on all audiences estimates made by Mediabase. I wonder if Nielsen is also doing it soon.

Lowkey, this happens after radio refusing to play "you broke organically" more as everyone wants, GP mad and stop listening radio after that, me thinks.

I-

i'd be shocked in Nielsen did a similar change as their numbers were already much lower

This is so funny

radio dying like this will just give place for way more frontloaded #1 billboard hot 100 debuts to come

just went back to compare the #1 song on radio's audience numbers on April 24th all the way back to 2013. this year was by far the lowest . last year at this time was higher than the year before.

Miss Ariana dropping the least and her songs still being in the Top 3 for AI dddd. Pop darling things.

Billboard uses BDS instead of Medibase, right? Does this bring the AI more closer to what it is on BDS or were similar adjustments reflected there, as well?

radio has been killing itself slowly for years. No one wants to hear the same few songs spammed over and over. People have been streaming their own music more and more in cars, and the pandemic has only accelerated radio dying.

It's a cute song though and hope it does something.

Honestly it’s so tiring.

I had wondered if the decrease applied to all genres or just Rock & Country (which I write about). Rock greatly downsided proportionally, though Country took a hit too.
