This feels like a pure joke. Not a single female artist top country radio in SEVENTEEN years?! rip

I'm afraid to ask how long it was since a non-Taylor song topped this chart.

No, we were referring about country songs by female artists not topping the Pop radio chart.

And besides Taylor, no other female artist has topped the Pop chart with a country song, it's just extremely difficult, Pop radio is very hesitant towards country music.

Oh alright. Thank god. Feeling stupid but relieved because that seemed absolutely insane.

Oww this is something.. wondering what was the last non taylor country song

Dolly Parton who had two #1 songs on the Hot 100 in the 80's only peaked at #2 at Pop radio on Radio & Records. in the 70's Olivia Newton-John had 2 #1 songs at Pop radio that were top 10 at Country and Debbie Boone hit #1 at Pop radio with a song that was top 10 at Country . their songs were more Pop then Country though.

No recurrents again this week on Pop, but looking ahead to next week, Speed Demon and House Tour are finally eligible to go recurrent.

per wiki:

It became the first song to top both the country-radio and pop-radio charts and surpassed the number-three-peaking "You're Still the One" (1998) by Shania Twain as the highest-charting country crossover to pop radio.

I think Choosin' Texas will be our next new Pop #1. I expect it's updates to pick up.

Maren was always country tho? I actually thought bones might have gone #1 after the hozier feature but it didn't even go top 10 which is crazy

the Gabby Barrett song she did a remix with Charlie Puth peaked at #3 at Pop radio and then she disappeared after that.

Taylor Swift Extends Her Record With 16th Pop Airplay Chart No. 1, 'I Knew It, I Knew You'

Taylor Swift tallies her record-extending 16th No. 1 on Billboard's Pop Airplay chart as "I Knew It, I Knew You" rises two spots to the top of the Sept. 26-dated list.

Bruno Mars ranks second with 13 Pop Airplay No. 1s, followed by Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Maroon 5, Katy Perry and Rihanna each with 11. (The chart began in October 1992.)

I wonder if she's built her lead enough to be safe from Bruno. Hopefully she can cross 20!

I think they made a mistake here. It should have been allowed to chart this week, since this is its second declining week and has less than 20 charting weeks. Unless it really got less audience than the #60 song.

RECURRENTS

On Country Airplay, descending

titles below No. 10 in either

audience or detections are

moved to recurrent after 20

weeks, provided that they

are not still gaining enough

audience points to bullet or if

they rank below No. 10 and

post a third consecutive week

of (non-bulleted) audience

decline, regardless of total

chart weeks. Plus, songs that

ascend to a peak between Nos.

1 and 5 will remain on the

chart for one additional week

even if dropping below No. 10.

Taylor is still charting at Country on the HDD Building chart. also Choosin Texas is close to losing it's bullet at Pop at #6 . there is a chance that could go recurrent tomorrow night with it charting 33 weeks.

Yes. common for country. i believe carrie underwood had tons of mediabase #1s, bb #2

as for why, here's female-only billboard country radio toppers:

2021 - good ones, things a man oughta know = 4 wks

2022 - drunk, never wanted to be that girl = 2 wks

2023 - watermelon moon shine = 3 weeks

2024 - = 0 weeks

2025 - somewhere over laredo = 1 week [avg: 2 weeks/year in this timeframe]
