iTunes US Albums Chart:

6. Gwen Stefani - You Make It Feel Like Christmas

Eminem single is getting scrapped, after 12 days:

Spins: 894 +20

Aud: 2.813

Aud+: +0,109

It didn't get any radio deal which has never happened before, for example Berzerk did awful on pop radio but it reached #20 thanks to radio deals and since it was his lead single. Even Headlights (the third single off MMLP2) which peaked at #45 on the Hot100 was higher on pop radio :rip:

Lmao, quality of music videos / replay value have NOTHING to do with views. Y'all acting as if Despacito isn't the most viewed video ever, and there isn't lyric videos with 1 billion views. :deadbanana:

Halsey is still a very niche/fanbase artist, as in only her close followers keep track of her. Hence her debut album going Platinum but there is literally not a single hit the public can name from it.

That is why she has low video views. She hasn't broken through to where the average person knows her, or her music. Now or Never was a big radio hit, but I don't think many people know who sings that, sorta like an Alessia Cara hit, which is why she also has terrible video views.

And I mean, you can be an artist the public doesn't care about and have a huge viewed video but the song has to be an omnipresent hit. Now or Never and Bad at Love are very moderate hits, and very local.

And she's doing really well on Apple music too.

Exactly. K-pop consumption is 99.99% stans; this precludes any K-pop acts from scoring proper hits. But that's not to say BTS's performance isn't good for a K-pop group (because it is).

Yep.

But the difference between DNA briefly reaching #4 a couple of months ago and this track having a 40% #1 lead on itunes is obviously down to the added curiosity and coverage surrounding them after the AMAs. It seems like English speaking media will continue to give them a lot of publicity now that they realise how many page views the crazy stans give any prominent English outlet that covers them. It's going to be interesting to see if they can channel this into a big collab that can get them even a lukewarm hit.

this is kinda always what I wanted to say

BTS is getting booked on these shows and getting these "rave reviews" (I hate that term) from major publications in the anglosphere bc they know their stans run en masse to whatever gives them attention dd. they know that kstans in the west are a bit manipulable when it comes to their faves. the LAX mess with BTS alone kinda shows how wild they'll get for their faves.

though BTS stans being quick to run to any publication in the west that gives them attention can sometimes backfire on the publications. I think spin magazine did a review on RM's solo rap mixtape and they talked about how koreans sometimes accidentally disrespect black culture while doing hip-hop, and their stans were annoyed at that. :rip:

I won't be surprised if exo gets booked onto daytime and late night programmes next year at this point

That's certainly why they've gotten their feet in the door. But it helps that they did actually kill that performance. Given how many western artists get the same kind of reviews for doing the bare minimum, the amount of visible effort they put into it stands out so much more compared to in k pop award shows.

Eminem may have unfortunately succumbed to ageism too. He turns 46 next year. Hopefully the next track performs better, as he is close to the 20 years on the charts mark.

I honestly would've thought that the media would be making a bigger deal about BTS topping itunes. :skull: only seen trade publications like Billboard talk about it

I bet they call Rihanna and record new song immediately

1. Rita ora - Anywhere

2. James arthur - Naked  0.831

3. Ed sheeran - Perfect 0.732  0.409

#5 #7 & #8 are current XF contestants.

X-factor still impacting UK charts. Rita(ex judge) performed few weeks ago. James ex winner.

Eds XF appearance getting huge leaps already. I think a few US TV appearances like this would put him in running for #1.

2. Kris Wu - B.M.

ehm?

EDIT: oh even his previous song went #1, for like 10 hours. Left top20 two days later

So Kelly Clarkson is unknown and have a niche base?

Bad at Love completely obliterated it in sales consistency :jonny:

She’s just gettin bigger. Look at Taylor Swift first few singles. They just kept getting bigger and bigger.

I wonder how comes RCA don't discount DTD. What have they got to lose? Look what discounting did for Bebe's song.

Little Mix are smashing it.

Kris Wu's numbers are dodgy. I did a google news search on him and there was no news of a new song. Also, no one talks about him on twitter, so how did he get to #2?
