it's not cause of the song.. i very sincerely believe that this performance is due to the political climate and her position during the campaign. after all, I'm sure she had plenty of republican fans given her background

still, the performance is very very surprising because it should not be red yet, that's absurd

omg im a swifty but i really hope Katy snatch that no.1. All the pop girls are underperformed, its kinda worry.

And Taylor need to have her as competition.

I would've never guessed, this is absolutely insane :rip:

I'd say they're down by 50%.

I guess pop girls are officially an extinct species? :noparty:

Taylor Swift says hi

Well it's safe to say she's not getting that #1 debut. Does she still have a solid chance at top 10 or is it still to early tell?

I can't believe what I just wrote refers to Katy friggin Perry. I honestly thought the song would smash out the gate...

I agree. I think Taylor left country music to have some competition again. It is not good for her if her competition fades after 1 album release. Perhaps she needs to switch to another genre :dancehall:

This makes me actually worried now. :rip:

I don't stan for her because of her success, I don't 100% like this song, but clearly she should've performed better than this, we're talking about a red update in less than a day for the girl who sold 500K+ last first single.

Seems Rise really was an indicator of Katys fall in popularity after all. Its early days but theres clearly no great thirst for her new material amongst her 96 million twitter followers. . Its not like the competition is selling huge either.

6. Nick Jonas & Nicki Minaj - Bom Bidi Bom

come through!!!! :jonny3:

It will be funny when  Bom Bidi Bom will jump over Chained

Honestly, Katy waited far too long. She should have released back in 2015.

Oh well.

I told ya'll that you were overestimating Katy Perry in 2017, that the lack of performance of Rise and that Dr Luke wasn't involved was a cause for concern

i remember the excuses like "but rise is a promo single!", or "people didn't buy it because it wasn't her lead single".

even though she had all the banners on iTunes for a whole week. Damn.

This song ia still going top 3, tho. The radio spins tomorrow are going to be crazy.

Let's see how it performs on streaming before we call it a flop lol.

I ain't worried abouth Katheryn yet. Girl still got the the Grammys and misic video release. Chill sistahs.

You're literally right on the money:

They declined 12.5% from 2013 to 2014 (x)

They declined 12.5% from 2014 to 2015 (x)

And they declined 25% from 2015 to 2016 (x).

Actually, they're probably down by a little more than 50% since the end of 2013, because now they're declining by a few percentage points every month.

Wow. This is unbelievable. I don't think anyone could've predicted this.

With sales being so low, do you think Taylor's lead single will still be able to do 300K? She has a big buying audience.

No, I don't. I think CSTF! will be the last 300k debut we ever see.
