I think it's a little premature to make such a bold statement, but we'll see. It's a possibility. After all, IDWLF is only a soundtrack. It's not a lead single.

Yeah, the possible positive scenario I see is that it pulls a Diamonds/We Found Love and slowly (by pop girl lead single standards) becomes a big hit.

This is true also. Teenagers don't like pure upbeat pop anymore. They like urban, edm, and mid tempos now.

Who is looking to teenagers for music trends anymore? That's such an outdated concept just like radio airplay.  That's what people did in the 1900s.

1999 is the 1900's i.e. last century. I don't know anything about even the early 1900's as the HOT 100 didn't exist then. The point is teens and tweens aren't the taste makers for music anymore.
