'Still Got Time' says hi...... I think the combo of the song, Sia, and the video is helping Zayn but I don't know if it'll sustain. Happy for him though bc I like the song a lot!

If they were smart, they would care.  Single sales are already low so it's not smart to split sales between two weeks when they only needed to wait one day.  Only one person can be #1 on iTunes at a time so they should go for maximizing their numbers, instead of an iTunes #1 which is clearly what they are aiming for by releasing a day early..

Are you saying the current #1 ain't a real vocalist?

Wait I forgot that Zayn was releasing today instead of Friday, and I didn't realize Kelly was too, or maybe I did but didn't remember :dies:

 

Why are all of these artists and labels chasing an iTunes #1 by releasing on Thursdays instead of releasing on Friday and getting a potentially higher peak on the Hot 100?

Cuz it's hard out there to get a #1 in any capacity nowadays so they try for the quick iTunes #1.  Both Kelly and Zayn had the same idea so it'll backfire for one.

It's just so weird, it's such a new phenomenon. Were these kinds of release schedules for singles even happening 6 months ago?

Kelly always serves longevity so she'll be fine. Zayn may go higher first week but he's frontloaded.
