You were the one saying that LWYMMD was going to be #1 first week and then fall like a rock and Despacito will be back at #1 the following week. What happened?

Oop :ahh:

RFI is holding up a lot better than I expected, it might hold the #1 until Friday before LWYMMD takes it back, or before someone else snatches it for a bit with all the new releases on Friday.

I wonder if any of the new releases will be able to get to #1 in the US on Friday, it will definitely be interesting to watch :celestial5:

It will be, I'll be rooting for sam, of course  :celestial5:

Taylor could very easily replace herself at #1 and stay there until 2018 if she releases the second single (aka real lead single) by early October.

Well, considering the closest competitor (combined percentage) is "Despacito", which is a 32 weeks old song that has already sold over 2.3M copies, it would be absolutely terrible for Taylor to fall below it :rip:

Let's see how she fares up against heavyweights like Eminem and JT releasing soon.

She crushes them every time she releases an album :sorry: She released Red just a few months before JT started 20/20 and she destroyed him.

What? :toofunny2: Point me to where I said that "Despacito" was going back to #1 on iTunes after Taylor's first week :rip:

Poor him for replying in the wrong thread (who am I fooling? I think he just wanted to flamebait)

Does anyone have a list of the new big releases this week?

Screaming at Symphony. It's a bop but a flop. Wtf :dies:

Why does The Weeknd fade so fast?

It's like his eras are only relevant for like 6 months and then it's like he has been gone forever, hence the mediocre sales (for such big hits).

Taylor will be detroned on friday for sure, even if its just for a few days, so many somgs are being released

Fact of the matter is, gay artists don't get embraced by the US public. Most of them didn't even know Sam was gay when he debuted, even though he never hid that fact. Now that it's more common knowledge, he'll struggle to get airplay.

He'll probably be fine in the UK though. But I have doubts he'll make much of a splash in Trump's America.

This did came to mind, but I have at least hope and pray people can be open minded and not let stupid **** like that undermine an artist with such talent, I really don't think people care if an artist is gay or not as long as the music speaks for artist instead of the sexuality...

Yeah, the US market would be more closed-off to that now than it would have been just 3 years ago. Radio stations are scared to play identity politics, which is partly why Katy Perry is flopping now as a result of her being politically outspoken (it makes her "problematic"), while Taylor Swift is slaying after keeping silent about her beliefs (she hasn't turned anyone off other than people who already didn't like her anyway).
