I can’t @ a song that spent 13 weeks at #1,was #2 on the year end charts & #8 on the decade charts with 1.5 years of tracking is only in the 60’s

1044 - My Heart Will Go On ?

There were fewer than 700k available in the US, so the song's run on the physical singles sales chart was 1-1-9-29-65-71-X. The song lead at airplay for 15 weeks or so, and set audience records for that era, 117 M I believe (when the panel was limited to just Top 40, HAC, AC, Rhythmic, and Alternative formats through Nov 98). However, BB didn't include airplay only tracks until Dec 98. My Heart Will Go On would've gone Top 3 just on airplay alone, maybe #2, for many of those weeks prior to the single's actual release. And imports of the single sold a lot, but BB didn't count imported singles. A similar situation happened with Don't Speak two years earlier, where imports sold like crazy. But, since there was no US, release, DS never charted. I don't know why No Doubt's label couldn't have just released 750,000 copies that would've been gone in four weeks and not have significantly hurt Tragic Kingdom's totals. As for Iris (1998), 250k singles would've gotten it to #1. One Week had 250k singles and hit #1, 1 wk lol. 150-200k might have done it for Iris and Torn.

I just don’t understand how could one sweet day be that low?? Shouldn’t it be like #1??

So Because You Loved Me is Celine's biggest hit to date? :rip:

Fantasia, LWYMMD, HIAM :deadbanana: Choosing to ignore MLWSWY and AMLT!

The label pulled the commercial single as soon as it was no longer number one so it fell off the chart quickly afterwards.

Columbia use to do that, pick and choose with Mariah to drive album sales. They pulled Can’t Let Go when it was going to be a #1 because they wanted more album sales for Emotions which was selling less than her debut.

SMOOTH getting what it deserves :jonny5:

Peoole scoffed at the UWC but Shape of You is genuinely high :jonny5:

Anyhow, I agree. "I Believe" is an incredible song and, inarguably, the most "soulful" number-one song of the Century thus far. Every time I listen to it I become extremely emotional.

My top three 'AI winners singles' rank would be:

1) Believe

2) Inside Your Heaven

3) This Is The Night

Not when Clay Aiken didn't win :jonny:

1. Inside Your Heaven

2. A Moment Like This

3. This Is My Now

imo

If we include runner ups then Diana DeGarmo - Dreams is #1 :cm:

Kesha being the highest charting mainstream pop girl :1stplace: Unless you count Rihanna & Calvins collab as hers, which isn't solo anyways so!

Her Top 40 power during the Animal era is just incomparable

Toni Braxton, Mariah Carey, Adele, Alicia Keys & Carly Rae Jepsen all have a higher charting solo song.

can we get an update on this or would that be too laborious

Okay, so since BB now ranks Uptown Funk the #1 song of 2000-19, then why does PRA #4 & IGF #5 rank UF#7? In BB Hot 100 of 2000-19 Hot 100 video, UF is #1, PRA is #2, and IGF #3.

UF's chart run was cut short because of the super recurrent rule, which was unfair :doc:

btw @iHype. this list is amazing :clap3:
