LOVING the album

It's MUCH better than Something Beautiful but isn't hitting the highs of Plastic Hearts and ESV. It's already growing more with each listen though

Her touring/residency comments… She has no obligation to do anything she doesn't want to do, and Smilers are incredibly parasocial, but damn, what a slap in the face to international fans (which she has more of than American fans at this point).

Sure, but it feels like this era was supposed to be a deliberate course-correction after Something Beautiful (new label, mononym rebrand, high-budget video, variants, mainstream lead single). That's why I say it "needed" to bring a lot more to the table, and from my own experience along with the general online consensus at this point, we're far from "OH MY GOD SHE DID IT " and that's worrying.

Dance The Night. Like… why not just call it Dance The Night Away?

Everyone basically repeating the same "this is solid! go Miley " consensus is… not great She needed to hit it out of the park with this and instead it just seems like "oh! that was cute" I went to a listening party as well, but I don't wanna judge the album yet since it was kinda hard to hear the lyrics/production. I definitely left with a kind of disappointment though. I don't get why it was titled Bass Persuades and marketed as a club/guitar/dance record when most of the songs are lowkey and midtempo. Praying the actual album in lossless quality actually delivers.

I feel like I'm listening to a completely different album from what critics/social media are hearing Every track is great, and some of them (freak, HTIMYLM, petal, bad thing) feel like instant classic Ariana songs. It honestly feels like bandwagon hate as a response to the Wicked overexposure era/discourse about her body. I genuinely do not understand the polarizing response at all when just focusing on the music itself.

I feel like they could make some perfect pop songs together. Showgirl isn't proof that Max is washed, that album being bad was 100% Taylor's fault

The deluxe added sooo many shitty/filler songs The standard album is so good and concise. However, Lost Yo Mind/Creole/Back Up are all excellent and fit the album's vibe so well

No. I remember when she teased the idea of just going by 'Miley' at the start of the Bangerz era because she felt like a new artist and wanted to emphasize the separation between her old and new music career. It would've made much more sense back then, not now when she's 20+ years into being known as Miley Cyrus and isn't trying to distance herself from anything
