Soulidified - "Man Ain't Me"

Boybands are back in the US! If Soulidified’s covers have been showing up on your feed lately, here’s an original to get into. “Man Ain’t Me,” their first single for Atlantic Records, pairs Troy Taylor’s production with group harmonies and an early-2000s R&B feel. The guys have their eye on someone who’s already taken, and they’re making their case.

Shade Jenifer, Malik Heard, Bradley Rittmann and Landon Boyce formed on Netflix’s Building the Band. Since then, their covers have gone viral on social media, and they’ve taken their own music on the road supporting Khalid. An Atlantic signing in August and a headlining appearance on Rock in Rio’s Global Village stage followed.

In the video, they play mechanics trying to impress a customer, played by Brooklyn Van Zandt. Benji Allen directs, while Marty Kudelka brings his experience choreographing for Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson to the group’s dance sequences.

I'm really happy for them. They deserve it. All three groups that came out of Building the Band are incredibly talented.

The guys have improved a lot when it comes to their stage presence and overall performance skills. That said, I assumed that after signing with a new label, they'd have access to better producers and songwriters and would be recording new material. That's why I was a bit surprised to see them announce an older song as the new single.

Good for them. It's nice to see most of the BTB groups still going strong.

I'm sooooo rooting for them. They should've won the Netflix show too, I always said that

They have started teasing their new single after signing to Atlantic Records recently.

They have performed it live before and, as usual, it's a banger.

Nice

Isn't it weird that they got signed to a major label and they are just going to release a song they already have made?

Not really . I imagine that's very common with artists probably more so than we think .

Don't know much about them, but this song is such a bop jonny

It's giving Male FLO in the best way possible clap3

A year after Netflix's Buikding the Band they are the final band to release a music video. They went viral 2 weeks ago on Twitter because they felt Malik held the group back for looking fat while dancing.

They've teased this song for months and performed it for ages. I doubt it'll do anything especially with Shade being pushed as the Beyonce of the group when the fans only care about the white boys.

Stream so they don't get dropped by Atlantic!
