...those long, annoying pauses throughout the song? The song has great potential, but it just hasn't fully clicked for me. I always get thrown off by the irregular rhythm and the long pauses (for example, after "you wanna see me all alone...", "now I can see it all", and so on). It feels frustrating and unsatisfying tbh I'm sure it's intentional, but it still feels weird for a radio single, coming from Taylor, and Max Martin especially. It's smashing though, so what do I know? Here's a mashup where they fixed the rhythm, such an improvement:
