Gaga uses AI to promote new album/concert/thing
Hmmm, imo it could be AI but to me it looks like just a photoshopped candle with her face put on it, then someone adding a stock video of a burning wick & a little animated drip down her face in like After Effects or something.

Mattxiv compares himself to Hudson Williams; sparks discussion
— Hudson is such a funny character to me because he is kind of a blank slate for most of the terminally online "thinkers" to project whatever narrative they want on to, good or bad, to then argue with other internet people and get their dopamine fix. He is so harmless so it's funny how MAD people get, the discourse on him is a great a case study on envy.

Lisa Kudrow: New sitcoms are too afraid to make jokes that make people uncomfortable
Well look at the Scary Movie 6 trailer, my woke-ish friends were kinda excited for it but the second there was a joke about non binary people they all backed out and said it looked bad. So I feel like people mainly want the jokes to be at the expense of people they feel should be joked about, and that varies drastically between groups. Also these edgy jokes were pre-social media, and that has made the media landscape a huge mess, people are claiming the new Mario movie as a conservative win ffs.

Down to Puck: Why Women Are Going Wild for 'Heated Rivalry'
Ever since someone said it's actually a sapphic story but just using men instead of women the appeal made a lot more sense to me.

Connor Storrie on sexuality: "I'm gonna keep that to myself"
This. I get it, its annoying seeing a gay man do this song and dance still but not everyone gets the Jonathan Bailey treatment, and with gay characters getting phased out of most shows it makes sense to not pigeonhole yourself. That said, it can also alienate/ turn off queer fandom which supported him in his breakout role so it might backfire.

Is Katy Perry back to being an A list celebrity?
She was one of the most popular halloween costumes, I personally saw 4 space suit Katy's holding a daisy this year + she just hard launched one of the most hilarious celeb couplings in modern history so yes she will always be A list. Her celebrity status is likely going to play out in a similar capacity to JLo, who is also aggressively hated by some but these haters still engage (like the gaga avatars above who are in every Katy thread they see), unlike some stars where they just sort of vanish, Katy and Jlo are always up to something.

Katy Perry - "bandaids"
Lets be realistic here… She's a white mom in her 40's known for straightforward pop music, gays openly hate her and her last music video was the ultra sexual Im His, He's Mine which was totally ignored and arguably some of her better work… going the pop-rockish Kelly Clarkson / P!nk route is probably her best bet to appeal to the girls who liked her 15 years ago who are now moms too. My dentist office went to her concert last month and were all raving about it, they were all women in their 40's, thats her new demo and this direction makes total sense to me.

Katy Perry - "bandaids"
I agree, I feel like she has had this oddly processed sound for about 5 years now and it's awkwardly noticeable

Katy Perry - "bandaids"
I view this as less of an attempt at a new hit and more as her getting her creative voice back and being vulnerable again. Almost half the accidents in the video are her fault which I think is very intentional, like her acknowledging this is mostly her fault, and the suggestion that her daughter has stopped her from ending her life (she was considering letting the train just run her over) was very touching. Also WW playing while her (career) blows up was a great self deprecating joke. I'm sure the gays and theys will reject this, that their prerogative but as a former fan it was nice to see KATY again and her use her music and art to actually say something.

Katy Perry - "bandaids"
Genuinely thrilled by the video, the joke about WW at the end was great

Tears undeperformed, why?
It's really dirty and verrrrry gay, I can't see the GP embracing it the same way they did manchild or even taste.
