I mean, Sam sold half of 100M albums with just four albums, flop career now or not that's impressive

They would have done a lot better (unit-wise) if they peaked now that the market is so much bigger or in the 90s when sales were huge.

Peaking when sales were low and then not having longevity so they couldn't take advantage of streaming growth has really hurt them.

It's not shade in any way. It's praise. I'm saying that they are bigger than the numbers say as they peaked when the music industry was smaller (revenue wise) as piracy was eating into it.

Sam feels like a household name, and there are artists that have outsold them such as Norah Jones that I don't think are bigger names. They have like ten recognisable hits.

I'm not surprised! (in a good way), Sam Smith had one of the biggest peaks for an artist that debuted in the 10s decade and selling 50M is really impressive for them.

Thrill & Love Goes were still successful albums on their own right tho, you act like in the lonely hour takes up of their units, when it's not the case at all.
