We might still be streaming..... but all our faves careers and the idea of popular artists/popstars will be dead if AI can just individually feed us perfectly crafted pop songs that we will love instantly....

I can see music becoming even more individual, in the sense that artists will record three times as much music to cater to every possible taste as technology has made it increasingly easy to create music. Soon you'll be able to assemble your very own musical preferences where no two people's musical tastes are the same. Whether that'll be through streaming or another consumption platform, I'm not sure yet.

They benefitted from their debut being in the physical and iTunes sales era. They were also young enough to make the transition (whether they were like Rihanna and were early, or took slightly longer) to streaming as an established artist to make new hits on top of their old ones, which artists from 80/90s couldn't do nor were there hits as recent to get a bigger numbers.

Now, the nostalgia boom is currently sustaining their pop hits from 20 years ago to a massive degree, and TikTok continuing to expose their older catalogue to Gen Z.

Maybe what will change is how we are consuming media. Surely we'll get bored of sequels and music from the 2000's soon

I swear, I think that only stans care about something like "total sales", empty figures made by greedy men mixing oranges and apples. No link to reality left.

Obsession with female anglocentric artists and their bank accounts seems more and more sinister to me as the years go by, it's like seeing children playing with dolls, though one would think it'sactually little soldiers given the savagery and the ache to triumph at all costs.

Streaming is the final form. Even some.of these other ideas like implants and holograms, would be counted as a stream.

To be honest I think we will revert back to some of physical consumption

Streaming was good at first but it has brought the value of music to almost 0, everything is too accessible and with AI honestly I have a very hard time trying to discover new acts

I think that the only way will be physical consumption and live performances to make sure the artist is human, physical consumption is the only way to filter out these hacks making 10000 songs per day with AI and putting them on streaming
