Demi's "Body Say" turns 10

Featured Replies

On July 1st 2016, Demi Lovato released "Body Say" as a buzz/standalone single. .

It was first made available via streaming format and then 2 weeks later via iTunes.

The track peaked at #84 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is so far certified Gold by the RIAA

What I remember vividly from that era is Selenators claiming Demi was copying "Good For You" because "Body Say" had a sultry sound too !

Underrated as hell and deserved to go at least top 5, one of her best

This song deserved a home on an album, at least on the deluxe for TMYLM. Felt bigger than what it ended up being when it was released.

Truly ahead of its time. It fits her current era very well.

Now that I think about it, there was something in the air during summer 2016 :

Side To Side (Ariana)

Body Say (Demi)

Make Me… (Britney)

The girlies were serving SEXY and sultry WAP

A classic that still hits to this day smitten

and this might be a hot take, but it's probably better than anything off any album post Unbroken…

What a song! I know many people say it could've been on Tell Me You Love Me (even Demi herself tied it to that era on her latest tour), but I've always felt it should've been added to Confident. It came out while she was touring that album and would fit nicely alongside Wildfire and Yes.

Crybaby is near the bottom of the album. Hitchhiker on the other hand…

I know it's a lil basic but I've been obsessed with Daddy Issues.

Body Say is top 10 in her discography.

Her best song, I'm afraid. The way it never appeared on an album is just further evidence of her constant career sabotage.

this deserved to be on an obscure deluxe version of TMYLM and not... No Promises (Acoustic) katie

Crazy how I haven't heard it since 2016 but I still remember how beautiful that chorus melody is

Omg, this is from 2016? I remember the song but didn't remember it was that old deadbanana2

Tell Me You Love Me is hands down the worst Demi Lovato album if you forget her debut. I've revisited it many times and it gets worse with every listen.

  1. HOLY ****

  3. It's Not That Deep (Unless You Want It To Be)

  4. Here We Go Again

  5. Confident

  6. Demi
