Bad neighbours and noise.

Featured Replies

I been having trouble with my neibours and their noise for over a year (we've only been here a year and a half). They have 8-10 people all singing, shouting, banging about till 1-3 in the morning most weekends and sometimes weekdays. Tried to speak to them basically said they don't care and it's none of our business.

Logged all the information I can, spoke to the housing association, but that could take a while for anything to happen.

I'm literally depressed, sleep deprived, not eating much. I'm wondering if there is anything else I can do? I am prepared to move but a transfer might take a while or not happen at all. My nerves are shot and I don't feel safe here anymore.

Any help or tips would be welcome.

call the cops or bring it up to your landlord - you asked nicely, only so much you can do

put some Whis threads in a text-to-speech program
and blast it on max volume; they'll be gone soon xo

I'm so sorry to hear that heart2

I know in the UK the police give people devices as evidence of noise and they can get prosecuted idk if you could ask about that?

I had this issue and I moved to the other side of the country because police did absolutely nothing celestial4

But if you're from the USA, maybe police will do something about it

Sending you love, I know it's horrible. A home is supposed to be a safe, peaceful place. I hate people who have zero respect for that.

Honestly if I was in your shoes I would just call the cops the next time that happened

They have had the cops called them already a couple of times and the neighbour below them had to move out after about 6 months.

Thank you all, for giving me some levity. I can't even relax when there out or there is no noice but I'm anticipating(.mp3) the next round of party or noise.

That's just awful. Do those people have a landlord? If they do I would definitely try to contact them

I totally understand how you feel. Me and my family has suffered greatly from stuff like this for the past few years. People don't realize how damaging it can be. I developed the same symptoms you describe. Heck, even talking about it gives me a bad feeling. My advice for you is to focus on your health. I know it sucks, and it's unfair, but if moving out is the definitive solution, please do it if you can. But still, I've heard the police in the USA are more effective towards these situations so maybe you should try a little bit more and see what you can do that way. heart

Time to take matters into your own hands. Crack a bunch of eggs down their dryer vent.

Play "Dance Monkey" VERY loud, on repeat, starting 7AM on Saturdays and Sundays, until 7PM.

(For obvious reasons, you'll have to be outside the house during those hours.)

sadly that would also upset the other neighbours and the op would also get the cops called on ha.

he needs to think of ways to target that neighbour specifically
