You're releasing new single Passenger Princess just in time for Hoopla, but has your studio - the 'La La Room' - seen any action since the last album sessions?

It hasn't yet, but I'm very close to being back in there. I've had meetings in there and played some stuff in there, so it's been brought to life a bit. As soon as I'm settled with these upcoming festivals, I'm going to get back into the studio.

I feel like I know exactly the direction I want to go in now, which exciting. The first time around, I was experimenting a lot with what sound I wanted, what genre, I was overwhelmed with choice. It was quite overwhelming going into a solo career thinking 'I can be anything, be anyone, have any sound or look.' It overwhelmed me because I just love music so much. 

The Perrie era was very experimental and about figuring things out, and the album ended up feeling very 'me' in the end, but I think I know where I want to go with this.

Ooh 👀. Any teasers as to the direction for P2?

The music I've brought out, and then the next single Passenger Princess, is a very good bridge leading to the next campaign.

Now Pez, beyond these festivals, can we expect any Perrie headline shows?

I hope so! I'd really love to, but it's trying to work it all out in the kind of climate. My dream is to go on tour, and I think it'd be good to tour with two albums worth of music, so that's my plan.

Honestly I'll probably keep using the demo bc I'm so used to it. The new production will probably throw me off. I do think it's a weird choice to release a demo on a deluxe edition of an album and then make it presumably the lead single for a second deluxe edition like mama what are the plans here. F her for not touring I wanna see her bad. She's clearly going more pop-rock on P2 rather than pure pop and I'm perched for her Love Sux.

Also the comments about her taste are weird. It seems it's give artists creative control until they actually have it - as if pop music is some sort of nobel peace prize. Let her make some fun shallow sing-able pop and pop-rock that we and - most importantly - she enjoys and go listen to Jade or Leigh-Anne if you want some "experimental" music.

I love the song and love the demo. I did wonder if she was going to put the fan edition on streaming today but guess it'll just be a download / vinyl exclusive.

I am a bit confused to why she's done a bit of promo / interviews for it when there is clearly no budget for streaming / a video etc. I think it would have sufficed being a droplet release as something fun to sing on her few festival shows but as long as she's happy

Hopefully next album she will work with different writers and producers to level up her game.

she had no AR for her debut, which makes sense now that we've seen how the tracklist turned out.

hope she does work with a different team! a writing camp wouldnt hurt
