Every time I come onto this website, there's another thread about Katy Perry. Whether it's some idiotic thing she's done, comparing her music to someone else's or her 56th attempt at a comeback, there seems to be a bottomless pit of conversations involving someone who, quite frankly, doesn't warrant even a fraction of this discourse. What is it that's so interesting to some of you about this unremarkable individual?

• Because the biggest fanbase on the forum, the Lady GaGa fans, hate her, which generates the most discussion.

• Katy's fans on ATRL are a very loud minority.

• Katy herself keeps doing stupid sh*t which makes her an easy target for hate.

• The music has not been good since PRISM era.

People can simply not get enough of her. And that includes both the people who support her AND her haters.

If people truly don't care for Katy like they claim they do, then genuinely why even discuss her in the first place? It's because she will forever and always be on yall's minds.

Cant blame them though. Katy made history in pop music. Her haters are still bitter about it. And when she's at her lowest possible level, her haters can't help the desire to "humble" her.

Iggy Azalea is actually more controversial & talked about on here and in real life

the only way for her to go away is to stop talking about her, but she keeps doing stupid stuff and getting noteworthy spotify resurgences, so she keeps getting discussed. This phenomenon is called Katy's Perrydox.

but also for real - take a look at the top posters in the last hit thread (Ruby Rose) and you'll see that the top poster by a margin of 3x to the next highest is a Kat lol

they know how to keep a conversation going and keep their fave in the conversation, all press is good press I fear

I'm personally very tired of it, and it's turned this site into a such an echo chamber. It's hard to believe she elicits such strong emotions among the residents here but again, we're still having Xtina vs Britney stan fights in the big 2026.
