I think this one has a good chance of being a long-lasting top 10 hit. It's genuinely fun and catchy but a lot of people didn't connect with it immediately. It seems like for most people it's one of those songs that takes a couple of listens to actually hit.

I don't think it's possible because Ella would just reach into her bag of tricks to stay ahead. She is just too strong and this woman will be haunting the chart for months.

Turns out she DOES want to preserve her streak of debuting #1.

She and her team need to push the single CD, vinyl, and cassette harder. I really don't think anyone is gonna be interested in buying those after the album is out. Just push those until the stock they have sells out.

Hoping she wins the battle for #1 but either way I'm proud of the numbers she's doing! And for making a great song. I think it'll do well on the radio. It's a great sing a long song in the car.

Just watched the new videos. The song is really good. I do think the reason why it's not connecting as well as it could is the imagery, which I have to say is quite high school and not really in line with her image during the festival era last year. She had a more rock-ish, outspoken about politics, brings The Cure on stage kind of persona so I think many people were surprised that the first offering from her follow up album is so saccharine?

That said the album is very likely going in multiple directions sonically. Lets see what happens at SNL in terms of song choices, but I think I also agree she should have dropped the entire album at once with two leads.

Even if she flops this is still my favorite lead single of hers and sounds very different for her, I'll take artistic progression and new, quality sounds over chart smashas that just feel like watered down versions of songs that were just released
