Grace Jones didn't even say anything that bad. Like of course, she could've worded it politer but Liddos still holding a grudge 17 years later is too much.

Isnt this how it goes in all fields of work? As a junior you can't just walk into the CEO's office and say "I want to do XYZ"

You've got to first earn that place and legitimacy. Thats why it took Beyoncé 25 years to work with Grace Jones.

well tbf she actually said that she found her soulless and her artistry lacking authenticity, which is a harsh thing to say to an up-and-coming artist at the time.

tho, her sentiment proved to age very well when gaga ditched the weird avant-garde persona after floppin

But she also said at the end: "first work on finding yourself and then show me something". Meaning, put the work in as an artist first before you approach me.

but who even gives af anyways. Gaga has established herself as a powerhouse in pop 17 years later. It's good that she never let those early rejections stop her.

Kesha shines in dance music and EDM tbh. Shes versatile, but her best work is in electronic dance pop.

Sometimes, but she's also made a lot of edm clunkers. Her voice shines best over bluesy music, imo. It just wasn't going to go anywhere commercially.
