No, she lacks something. Gorgeous girl, pleasant enough voice and has some bops. But lacks the it-factor. She reminds me of those C-list girls from the 2000s that had a couple hits like Paula DeAnda, Kristinia DeBarge, etc.

Except Rih had a couple big hits (Pon De Replay/SOS/Unfaithful) that hit both sides of the ocean with her two mixtapes, before Umbrella.

I love Tyla and I'm rooting for her, but I'm afraid without a huge/global breakthrough she will remain in Khia tier.

Water, P2S, and Chanel are big hits, especially Water and Chanel so I guess she's on the right track

What I mean is that Rihanna's been bigger in scale since the day one.

I know that the times and marketing strategies were different back then, and music business not so fragmented as it is today, so she's doing fine for her standards, but on a global scale that's a different story.

What's interesting is that both lacked the support of the Black Community. I only hope that Tyla's trajectory is similar to Rih's.
