Taylor is called inorganic compared to Adele, why?

Featured Replies

Let's be real, we've all seen the arguments about Taylor's marketing strategy versus Adele's more traditional approach. But how does that affect us as fans? Does buying multiple album variants feel fun or manipulative? Does Adele's rarity make you more or less excited? I'm genuinely interested in hearing your experiences.

There is nothing organic about withholding your music from streaming. Marketing is mamarketing. You're welcome.

3 Million with 1 version is insane but 3 million without a mentally ill fanbase like the barbz/swifties is even more impressive

There is noting organic about releasing endless variants, giving them limited release times to push the same few thousand fans to buy up as many copies as possible with their daddy's money. Market manipulation is marketing! You're welcome.

Taylor showed extreme levels of desperation and capitalistic greed. Adele? Class act

one had 2 variants, debuted with 3.5M+ shattering the old record AND had two other 1M+ selling weeks, sold 7M in the span of 5 weeks AND a record breaking 1 million downloads for lead smash single "Hello" that went #1 in 30+ countries

the other had 30+ variants that broke the record by 500k only to drop by 93% in its 2nd week

Well when you put it like that, it's The Life of a Desperate Popgirl methinks

at the end of the day taylor broke the record for biggest US first week sales in history. she did that with variants yes but most of the sales are vinyls ($35 each) while the music was available on streaming from the start.

adele predominantly sold CD's and her album was withheld from streaming for years. all these artists have their little tricks to bolster sales so it is what it is.

Let's be real, even if Adele had album variants her fans wouldn't buy them.

I'm not sure why Taylor has to be punished for it.

She beat Adele's record for first week sales and no amount of ATRL whining will change that.

And that'd why people are fuming, they can no longer hide behind Adele every time Taylor drops a new album so now they have to keep shifting the goalposts. "But the variants, it's inorganic!!!" as if Adele withheld 25 from streaming for months for the sake of artistry:sabrina:

I mean, we all know the answer just don't say it out loud or they'll come out from under their piles of cds and vinyls to overtake the thread.

Are the gowns even beautiful?

Adele stans still bitter Taylor's flop (yes, the one with Me! & YNTCD) outdebuted the highly anticipated follow up to Adele's 25 despite having the same amount of versions :sabrina:

What inorganic? Every album of Taylor's have more longevity than Adele's album (except 21 which 1989 will surpass soon). 30 came and went, no one remembers that album except the lead song, album tracks numbers are in gutters.

So, what youre saying is they're going to come out of their dumpster bins like they do once a year when tayble release her annual bowel movement that they eat up?

Given the dump is exactly where those endless piles of cds and vinyls end up.
