inspired by the latest server issues , this really is starting to feel like the end of the road for atrl (it won't be , this website would somehow outlast the roaches in a nuclear event )

 

what does this site mean to you ?

 

i love atrl , ive been on it for years and even though im still not as old as some of you guys ive gone through many different phases of life while having this forum as … literally the only constant thing in my life through all of it omg . this site has been more constant in my life than my family (bc i moved away for 4 years) like that's crazy to think about .

 

atrl saw me through my alcohol and other substances edgelord charli xcx Manchester gay phase (which got my thread making privilidges taken away for 5 years , never drink and post yall  ) . it's seen me turn into a mature and smart responsible adult i am today … you guys have always been here  

 

this site has also provided some of the biggest laughs ive ever laughed at online stuff . "wait he boiled, as in turned into a gas?"  and every day i laugh at least once at the messiness of this forum . ahhh my ******* atrl

 

on the flip side , i also remember when Buddy's (super active atrl user) passing was announced and at the time that made me think a lotttt for days about how you never know what people are going through on the other side of the screen  and i even appreciate atrl for also making me think a bit deeply about life sometimes in ways like that and reflect and try to be kinder

A place of socialization, talking about hobbies. Also a fun place where I can host rates for stuff like Pokemon 

I wanted to already start a Pixar movies rate but site instability holds me back.

It's a place where I can be myself and not have to pretend to be anything other than a bitter, aging gay male who lives for pop culture memes and drama.  In my daily life I have to be so perfect and fake, so it's nice to log in here a couple times a day just to be my messy self around homoséxuelles from all around the world who truly get it. It's actually pretty cool when you think about it.

It's one of the last popular traditional forums online. It's almost a time capsule. And I do appreciate how it's pop-oriented, appealing to a very broad interest of mine. Of course, I like the socialization aspect of it as well. It's a different vibe than Reddit, being that it's just more familiar. It doesn't feel like I'm screaming into an overpopulated void, in a manner of speaking.

Idk I've been here since I was 15. It's like a home now. Yes it's unstable but it's been my constant during everything that's happened in my life
