Biggest album campaigns

Born This Way absolutely had the biggest campaign ever.

NYC trains, Farmville on Facebook :toofunny3:, painted brick walls in LA NYC Chicago, every promo spot imaginable around the world, Alan Carr, SNL, SMAP, VMAs, Jingle Ball, German TopModel, Legrand Journal, XFactor France, $1 discount on release, insane brand deals like her Thierry Mugler fashion show teaser for Scheibe, Starbucks, her own BEATS headphones, Virgin mobile, she was EVERYWHERE.

Inspired by this quote:

Bad - Michael Jackson. Look up news reports from it's release.

Born this way, Red, and 1989 were the biggest I can remember.

Honorable mention to teenage dream.  This was a very long album campaign so by sheer number of interviews, music videos, performances etc. it might rank at the top.  However unlike the ones above, it never dominated for a single period.

I also feel like we should give honorable mentions to Doja and Sabrina for Planet Her and SnS.  Those woman worked for their success.

I miss big campaigns and pop stars on every show. The industry is dead.

I think it's because we enter in the streaming era, we don't have that kind often.

Everything's already on your streaming platform. Opening Spotify or apple music, you see their music immediately.

A regular era is gonna have a few banners in mega big cities and that's all. Nowadays, record labels want their artists' viral tiktok clips and big streaming statistics number to push a certain song or just stop right there if it's doing bad.

It has no souls

Come On Over

Released in 1997, but the promo ended in late 1999/early 2000.

The fact it was the 10th biggest album of Europe in 2000 and had like 12 singles:deadbanana2:

The era was iconic though!

Renting ad space at major landmarks globally to tease your upcoming album is crazy :deadbanana:
