I could've sworn this sampled "Cry Me a River" … the pre-chorus melody sounds so much like "you don't have to say what you did / I already know"

I thought the same but Cry Me a River isn't the only song with that kinda 00's melody.

Y2K has to be the most overdone and uninspired direction. Absolutely done to death and it doesn't even resonate with the most popular R&B right now. I hate it when stans beg their faves to do that aesthetic
