The posts in this thread and the way men act in the real world aren't matching up. It's much healthier to have these conversations realistically instead of pretending you're above breeding. :bibliahh:

OT: it's a better option than no protection but not ideal.

Fr. These people must not be having sex because literally no one on sniffies uses condoms :rip:

  • no because there are (many) other STIs. it's insanely irresponsible that so many gays think this way too.

No, but they can make your kidneys obsolete.

  • If you are not vaccinated against HPV? Leading to anal cancer.    How about resistant syphilis or other STI's that come up?    Just condom up. It's safer.

This is why people are always told to NOT self medicate without medical advise, ibuprofen included :psyduck:

They go to the doctor complaining, only to be prescribed ibuprofen. The doctor usually sets a limited dosage for a few days, but many people end up taking the entire pack, there are plenty of people who do this.

And the issues that come from misuse is natural selection, but not the norm for the med

I just saw your other post about letting a rando rawdog you. Praying for your immune system.

There's nothing wrong with breeding, but if you're having to pop one every time after sex because you're worried a guy gave you something, you need to just get a regular guy or two that you're consistent with.

They're all useful tools for preventing STIs, and each of them differ in their effectiveness at preventing different STIs. Condoms aren't obsolete since there are other things PrEP and DoxyPEP aren't effective at preventing.

Using any combination of the tools is a good thing. Just be aware that even though condoms, PrEP, DoxyPEP, etc. are proven to be effective, none of them are 100% effective.

Side note: people need to realize that shaming people for their sex practices can lead to more erratic and dangerous sexual practices. Also stigmatizing STIs leads to people not getting tested + lying about their status. If someone's committed to having unprotected sex, the most useful thing is to give them additional tools to use to prevent STIs.

For people who already have kidney issues, maybe unfortunately, however some medications can actually put more strain on the kidneys than PrEP does.

Take ibuprofen, for example, it's a drug that many people use regularly, but its impact on kidney function is far stronger than PrEP's. If you've ever read the full list of side effects and risks in ibuprofen's description, you might think twice about ever taking it even if your life depended on it. :coffee2:

Except ibuprofen is not a medication they prescribe to you to be taken once a day. :biblio:

Ibuprofen isn't prescribed to be taken daily, yet many people still do. There are medications, that are actually prescribed for daily long term use, and compared to those, Prep looks extremely safe. You can't deny someone a medication they truly need just because of potential side effects, there's always a greater risk to consider. For people at high risk, prep is taken to prevent a very serious disease

My doctor said DoxyPREP makes Syphilis undetectable so you might end up with long term effects of it which is scary

PreP is goat though, i love bareback :clap3:

Embarrassing thread, some of you get informed by anyone BUT medical professionals and it shows.
