Let's be honest, of course she was going to get ignored. We all know it, and her sound isn't poppy enough for the LM girlies like Jades and Perries music... I mean between the three her music sounds the most removed from LM. Leigh is really building a brand new fanbase.

I think Been A Minute and Burning Up are both good songs and the album is shaping up nicely if this is the sound she's going down, I think they're both better than most of the tracks she released on her EP which demonstrates a level of artistic growth, personally I'm very happy with her output so far

Was this teased as a 2nd single or just a droplet? I assume it was dropped on Thursday because of her festival gig she had yesterday.

Leigh-Anne's music style isn't for me, but I can appreciate and respect it for what it is and I'm really glad she's staying true to what she wants to do.

Just a promo track, I believe? I think the second official single will be the "dead & gone" song that she's teased before 

The sound she's aiming for is interesting but I think this is missing a stronger hook. I feel like her last two singles have been so almost there but not full on bangers.

I didn't say disliking her music made you racist. Nor did I say you were racist. I was just acknowledging there seems to be a pattern of behaviour there of going hard for Jesy and yet putting down Leigh-Anne.

 

Your allegedly being a person of colour doesn't change that, nor absolve you of the potential of being racist.

Ive been a fan of hers since 2011, just because I don't like her past few songs 'racist', which you're quite clearly insinuating. It is disgusting you are suggesting I'm pretending to be a POC…trying to silence me.

I actually think this could benefit from a rap feature (which i usually hate, but a FIRE one could be amazing on this) and then a HUGE explosive drum buildup for the end of the song would be amazing.  This is a cute song for her but it could have absolutely SLAPPED

Well forget POC, as a black person, this music resonates with me, the rhythms I can feel, and it's actually just plain very good.

 

You saying the music isn't good is telling of the type of music you like, as Leigh is serving perfectly fine Afro-pop of quality (although short). 

 

You might just not like the genre she's going down, and Jesy, Perrie, And Jade might be more your jam. 

IMO, the only song that Leigh has released which I thought was a bad song was Forbidden Fruit 

 

I think she's pushing herself artistically and utilising her voice in different ways that we never heard on a Little Mix track and ultimately that's all I want from their solo music. Burning Up is a great (but short) song that sounds totally different from anything we heard from her in Little Mix. More of the same would be very much welcomed. 
 

She's using parts of her range we don't always hear her sing in and all of her solo music has totally different rhythms, melodies and texture to the pop music in the group, so I've been enjoying her output so far

It drives me absolutely insane, the micro aggression of people being against her sound. One of the reasons they went on hiatus was specifically to get to experiment and find themselves. It's so rare for every member of a band to get to do that successfully too!

 

I'm so proud of her for taking the brief break from releasing to actually just go further in the direction. She's carving for herself and refine her sound! She's so easily could've just leaned into something more familiar which, to be fair as kind of the direction, Perrie is taking and working for her! I love the variety of sounds. We're getting from all of the girls.

This might actually be my second favorite song of hers behind My Love. The beat is so infectious and her voice has never sounded better

 

This album is shaping up to be amazing with just two songs so far. I can't wait for January

Yes and no, her voice is just versatile. Doing the same vocal styling as her poppier stuff wouldn't work here.

I hope the album is leaning more towards afrobeats influenced sound like burning up and my love (stealin love also). those are my favorites from her.

I think her airy vocals shine on those tracks and the genre just does favors for her tone & voice
