With her stadium tour, she definitely is not over yet. But if she can't have new hits, she will fade away. At least one more album as the IT mainstream girl for her to redeem herself.

I don't know what you think you're saying, but it doesn't track at all. 

 

On every single album known to man, there will be certain tracks that get more attention than others. That is unavoidable. Singles exist solely to drive attention to the parent album. Because they are presented as an excerpt from that album, they will always by default receive more attention.

 

But that does not make them any less part of the album, and a play for them should be counted as a play for the body of work that it is attached to. You cannot separate a single from the work that spawned it. A single is just a component of an album. You cannot take a cog out of a machine and assess the cog on it's own merits because it is not intended to function as it's own stand alone machine. It is one part of a larger whole. 

 

No one's career is assessed based on the performance of their non-single album tracks. Their careers are assessed on totals. Total streams, total sales, total tickets sold, etc. And to do that, you have to include the singles. You don't get to just ignore singles because it creates a more convenient set of statistics to work with.

As if she didn't release bop after bop. Her singles before Houdini were catchy af, no payola was needed to have everyone spam them.

People on here act like RO was some huge bomb era but Houdini was pretty big everywhere apart from the US. The album is a huge decline from her previous but it wasn't like a Witness level bomb either. She could bounce back I think it depends what she releases.

If even the likes of Carly Rae Jepsen and Megan Trainor are still employed then Dua Lipa is far from being finished. 

Carly is an icon. 

When she left TAP, she lost the "ideas" people who steered/ A&Rr'd her first two album eras. Her dad is never going to be as edgy and plugged in as TAP are, but obviously - (and after what TAP did), she can never go back to them and to reinforce that, she negotiated getting her masters from them, after she had already exited her management contract from them.

 

She has three options, (01).  She can sign up to a rival management team (to TAP) - a team who have proven industry success with other artists, a team who are as clued up about A&R as TAP were/ are, and (in exchange for a fee), she can let real industry professionals guide her back to the good graces of the U.S. market, or she can..  (02). Try and repeat FN, by going back to the same producers/ stylists/ directors.. or (03). she can simply make another album the U.S. market won't care about, like RO and become Queen of the Pan-European Market.
