I never really cared about internet browser but recently I discovered that there are actually browser nerds out there who love trying out new internet browsers and pay a lot of attention to what each and every one of them offers. I was actually surprised that there are more than four browsers (Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Opera - I genuinely thought those are like the only browsers out there but apparently there's a whole internet browser market out there )

 

All of this seemed interesting to me and I suddenly got the need to become a slayful IT queen who uses a cute internet browser. I used Opera for a couple of years and I liked its design but I saw people share some safety concerns regarding it here and there and then I noticed that it works super slow for me so I came back to just using Google Chrome and have been satisfied. But as I said, I want to become a slayful IT queen  And I discovered that there's plenty of others more or less "niche" browsers like Brave, Arc, Waterfox, Zen etc. I decided to try out Zen cause I love its Buddhist name and vibe  and it's fun to customize but it has a whole tab bar on the left side of the browser (or you can move it to the right side) and it annoys me sorta kinda so I might just go back to Chrome, I'm really not a technology computer nerd type of person so idk how to do cute customizable looks and idk if I have enough patience to get into it and learn all of it. But as of now, I am submitting this topic from the Zen browser 

 

This whole thing is just interesting and completely foreign to me so I wanted to ask our fellow ATRLers their opinions on the subject of web browsers before I completely give up on this new-found hobby of mine. Are you an IT queen? Do you like to experiment with different web browsers? Are you wary of all the safety concerns regarding the usage of web browsers? Share your stories!

It blocks any ads just by using it. You don't even need to download an ad blocker. It works perfectly for ATRL and YT ads.

I use a MacBook and an iPhone, but I don't use Safari. I switched to Brave on both and I'm satisfied.

I have to say that I love Chrome because of the extensions. I use a Google Translate extension that allows me to translate highlighted portions of a site only (because I love practicing my second and third languages by reading articles about my interests, and translating a whole page to learn the meaning of one single word defeats the purpose). I also love the Picture-In-Picture extension! I think it's automatically done on iPhones now but not so sure about computers. I've had this one for years My favorite tho is PocketTube. It allows me to organize my YouTube playlists into categories. I have a lot of playlists so this is really useful for me.

I also love how easy it is and how it syncs across my phone and computer. I never really looked into which browser is the safest or anything like that, and I find that personalized ads are pretty accurate and I don't really mind them so browsers that make not selling your data a selling point don't matter much to me.

About customizing the look: Idrc for that either. I added a wallpaper to my "New Tab" and that's about as much as I want to do anyways. I like a uniform look anyways.

Hmmm so this is the appeal of Brave. I've seen lots of people on social media mentioning this browser and now I know why. Might need to look into this one

Firefox for pc and Samsung internet for mobile. I have ad blockers for both 

Phone: Opera

Laptop: Firefox

I'm a web dev so I technically use all major ones for testing and QA of my work for cross browser compatibility but my primary browser is Chrome.
