First time I rolled my eyes  Hopefully it'll grow on me.

I like it tbh. It's got a summer vibe to it. I just hate that the album feels more like a playlist than a concentrated body of work. 

 

Does anyone else's Spotify presave keep getting replaced with the EP? they need to sort that out. Kinda concerning the track list is still just showing as having 4 new songs.

She's said numerous times it'll update when the full tracklist is revealed

I bet when the tracklist is announced the presave will be deleted and replaced with a new one.

I was really hoping she'd lean more into grown, mature R&B ballads—not this middle/high school dance team type of stuff. Most of her audience is clearly 30+, or damn near

 

Yet so many of the songs she releases sound like they're made for high schoolers or younger.

 

Who ever is EPing (exec. producing) is clearly an idiot, wouldn't be shocked if its just her and Theron

it's sad that her second album still stands as her most muture body of work and she was only 21 when it was released. Ever since then it's been skating rink bops.

 

though I like this new song I know it's not gonna catch on with the GP and neither will that Tyga song

Ciara hasn't touched the charts hot 100 in over 7 years. 12 years since her last decent chart performance. Even Tinashe has managed to chart these days. She's  made it clear she don't care about us hence the awful music these past few years, and that's okay it's her life. 

I need her to drop something like Kehlani's "Folded" or MTS "Burning Blue".  Or Kwn "do what I say".

 

She needs to stop with the dance/pep rally tracks, the fans and GP do not care for them and she doesn't even perform like she used to. 

 

She needs to stay in that promise, ride, body party lane with a refreshed mature approach. 

 

She had the right idea with ecstasy but the writing was very lazy, and not saying much. Plus production could be better

 

She definitly needs a "story", but she nor her team has the vision for that.

Exactly. All of her peers moved on from that teenager bopper stuff as they entered into their 30's and she's somehow still stuck with beats and lyrics taken from a kids bop album; hip hop edition. It's different to once in a while create something silly and just for fun but to put out a body of work like this. SMH

 

Now I wouldn't necessarily just want a full album of just mature R&B ballads, but you can create a good balance between that and some dance records. You can also create a dance record that has more depth and a less cliche soundscape (throwback 80s hip hop beats).   She's literally microwaving her old microwaved nachos because not only has she used this beat so many times, it's not even trendy at the moment.  This is why I want her to work with fresh producers. Producers that are a bit more experimental with sounds. I want her to mix other genres but keep it R&B. 

 

That's why I had also been pitching for more of a concept album because it's easier to keep things cohesive when you do and you can focus on deeper topics that tie the whole project together. Titling your album "Cici" is just so corny and juvenile. No one even truly calls her that anymore. Fans would chant that in the old days to hype her on stage but that's it. It's not this deep connotation that she's making it out to be.  Also reminds me when she named her album "Jackie"; and yet the album had almost nothing to do with her mother or even her being a mother. 

 

IDK if you noticed but I was dragging this woman left and right until she released Ecstasy. Why? because in my head it felt like a proper lead single and it seemed like a palette cleanse. The song is her owning her womanhood unapologetically and it truly sounded like a grown woman record (for the most part; there are some cringey lyrical moments). 

 

To be fair, Ciara's messy and not so organized rollouts brought a lot of confusion. I'm not surprised that people are confused about the tracklist because she herself made it confusing. This is why I also keep bringing up that anything she does feels thrown in last minute and I think the reason many people are successful is because they have the discipline to be organized and to do proper roll outs. People at the very least take you more seriously but out of the 8 albums The Goodies, The Evolution and somewhat self titled were the only ones with proper roll outs. Jackie was close to being one until she went left field with her sound misleading her audience and with a confusing album title.

Im tired of even saying what i want because she can do what she wants. i will admit i am jealous of beyonce fans because shes putting concepts and is playing with the sound. i cant imagine her releasing crazy in love 2.0 , cringe

Girl Tennis Show charted maybe  twice on the Hot 100 since 2 on. Don't get carried away.

OMG, yes. She repeats the same robotic talking points every time. Most of us honestly don't care that much about her personal life. A short 2–3 minute segment is fine, but when 80% of the interview is about that and only 20% actually touches on music, it gets frustrating....especially when she's been doing this for a good decade. No wonder most of her so-called "fans" aren't really in it for the music. 

 

I also get the sense that a lot of songwriters and producers avoid working with her. She probably micromanages the process and insists on a very specific sound—and unfortunately, this is the result we're stuck with. Even some of the features she landed—like GloRilla, Latto, and Lil Baby......feel like throwaways, as if they were just clearing out their hard drives.

 

If you have an album dropping, your social media should reflect that. Instead, it's chaotic and all over the place so much irrelevant posting....so much so that even a casual fan wouldn't know there's an album coming.

I sympathize with OG fans. I hope we could all enjoy the album anyway and find new favorites.

 

Ciara is such a kind, warm, and humble woman. Her life is inspiring, and for her to still do music speaks testament to her passion and respect to the fans.
