What's taking so LONG 

I don't see how it makes sense to use an unreleased song in a big brand campaign and not have any immediate plans to release it if the registration theories are true. 

 

If it takes off (which it has) what do you do then... so much wasted hype from a marketing perspective. 

Judging by this snippet alone, I have trust in Doja to use Jack Antonoff to his full potential. I think it will be a pleasant surprise tbh. Highly doubt that it'll sound like Taylor/Lana or anything like that.

 

Now as far as the rollout goes... this smash needs to be released ASAP

Look at all the videos with the jealous type sound on tiktok, the people are HUNGRY based off these snippets. I feel like they're edging people with the vagueness, and it could work to her favour for the first day streams etc. The more exposure the snippet gets, the better. But they need to balance it correctly and not overdo it to the point that people forget about it/move on. 

 

If we don't get at least an announcement by the end of this month however, they can keep it. Everything is aligned for her right now so they NEED to get it right.

MTE but Doja is unpredictable. She released Attention first (no shade, love her down) when she knew she had PTTR up her sleeve. Cards has more commercial appeal than Attention but I could see the vision releasing Cards first as an appetizing tone setter then coming for the kill with Jealous Type follow up. I think JT was one of the more recent songs she finished so there's probably no video and stuff for it yet.

Exactly! She can get a hit with Cards then a smash hit with Jealous type. The more singles the more the album will be carried. It seems like we are for sure getting more singles this era.

I literally cannot believe the album is not done yet. That just confirmed all of my fears of there being no strategic planning to anything she's been doing these past months since March. Why the **** do we have an era aesthetic, brand deals and teasing of songs if the album isn't even ******* finished. A mess m. See y'all in September or October

Well as fully realized as we could get with an eccentric pop star as Doja 

personally idrgaf about physicals being ready first week. obviously that would be ideal, but if it means having to wait til the fall/winter then i'd rather the rollout just begin and the album come out without them. her peaking at #2-5 because a lack of physicals doesn't actually mean anything about her as an artist. planet her didn't go #1 and that had smash after smash after smash, so who really cares if even doja doesn't?

 

that being said, we neeeeeeed the lead single out by next month then, and album out by the end of august at the latest if they're not waiting around for the physicals. this is SUMMER POP!!!!!! we need it before it gets cold again

A little condensed/smushed yes, but still doable for full summer rollout and drop. Things have to start rolling ASAP since May is almost gone tho.
