So many b-list artists shamelessly imitated Britney back then. As a young child I almost always thought it was really her too, the rappers and DJs who would use them for fts knew what they were doing imo.

 

I don't believe this is one of those cases but it was a very big trend.

Not on my watch! I will defend Femme Fatale. That album had cutting edge production that sounded like a million dollars. The mixing was SMOOTH. Every kick hit. Every crunchy synth sounds like you're being bathed in it. Cascada literally could never because they didn't have the budget, no shade.

The way 99% of Cascada's first two albums (and recently Studio 24) are straight up covers   the Sk8er Boi and Just Like A Pill covers are hilarious but Natalie ran miles around Avril and P!nk vocals-wise

"Evacuate the Dancefloor" was trying to replicate the success of "Just Dance" by Lady Gaga feat. Colby O'Donis.

There are a tone of people who think Britney is singing Genie In A Bottle. You can even find videos on YT where people have to guess the singer and they're shocked when they discover it's not Britney
