I think they're kind of modeling Rosé after Olivia? Her debut was full of ballads too and a couple of bops, hopefully Rosé's sophomore will include more guitar songs and if there are midtrempo's on there they better be like 3AM

 yeah she is leaning into Olivia who is modeled after Avril Lavigne, whom she sounds the same way too

 

i dont think they are deciding it for her, because she seems to really like such guitar/rock kind of songs,

 

during her live before, people were asking her to cover Ariana kind of songs, the piano ballads but she sang rock-guitar songs

yeah, from the beginning she was kinda like the "indie" girl of BP  always showcasing her guitar skills, covering ballads it just happens that she has "pop girl" moments like KTL at Coachella or the HYLT dance practice so we expected her to drop more dance-led type of songs
