I am ADDICTED to this album and just saw she's opening for Lorde!! PLEASE open in London queen!!

ok my ranking of atrl's aoty contenders: lifetime > choke enough > eusexua > fancy that

I'm new to her music and noticed her last album her voice sounding pitched down but on this album it sounds pitched up. Does anyone know if this is her style or if I'm misinterpreting? 

 

 

 

Curse this woman not opening for Lorde in London.  I actually didn't even get tickets for Lorde anyway, if I was seeing them both i would have absolutely HOUNDED ticketmaster but alas, the ticket wars were too exhausting for just Lorde. Hopefully Oklou does a tour in the near future when she's had her baby and feeling ready.

I had never heard a single thing she's ever done until yesterday and now I'm here to just say, aoty

 

okay so it's been a day and eight hours since this album entered my ears and the title track is already probably on its way to being my most played song of the decade, I am physically incapable of hitting pause  and it's going to carry ict to #2 along with it, the way this album hit me like a meteor - if y'all have suggestions of any similar artists, especially who've made similar things to those two tracks, I need them so bad

Revisiting this album lately and I just can't believe the longevity it has with me. It genuinely might be one of my favorite albums of all time, right next to Brat. Choke Enough and ICT are already my fourth and seventh most played songs this decade. What's interesting to me now though is how the rest of the album is opening up for me now that my fixation on those two songs has sort of settled back down to earth. Every single sound here is right, well-placed - every lyric and note and melody. I've left the album as a whole, start to finish, on repeat for like the last day. There are so many parts of it that I find myself looking forward to. Blade Bird might be hitting the hardest right now given that it has some emotional resonance.

 

I really won't be shocked if this remains my #1 favorite album of the year at this rate - it's already survived some serious challengers with Mayhem and Virgin. I also really hope that this gets a follow-up sooner than later.
