Lady Gaga's Floppage: Technical Explanation?

Featured Replies

Can anyone explain how can you have a #1 song (DWAS with Bruno Mars) on Spotify
and FAIL to debut a single song from the album on the very same platform
with HIGH playlisting and close 100m Monthly Listeners

like not even 2.5m of are tuning in for the album everyday?
Like what is the technical explanation for this?
any Maths/Algo Expert sisters here?

Technically, she has the biggest song in the world right now

Her audience is likely drawn to her authenticity, selecting what they enjoy from a multi-faceted artist who is not only a singer and actress but also a mother. Unlike many in the industry, she doesn't rely on offering an overwhelming number of variants or manipulating playlists to artificially boost exposure.

If you enjoy Gaga's ballads, she has hits that will make you smile. If you prefer her jazz, she has that too.

Do you have to appreciate both styles simultaneously? Not necessarily.

Like are you honestly expecting that covers of 100 year old jazz songs are going to be fighting Sabrina, The Weeknd, and (ironically) Gaga herself on the Spotify charts?

Like is this how desperate y'all are for a quick kiki?

After Joanne's devastating performance, miss Gaga and her management team decided (very cleverly imo) that her next projects would always be accompanied by a very high profile collaboration. They did it with Tony, Ariana (imagine how Chromatica would perform without this song), and they did the same with Bruno Mars (without him, we can see that her newest album will debut outside the top15, which is shocking, especially during this week that the movie gets released and having a #1 on Spotify at the same time). I mean even Love for Sale debuted at #8, but the GP is not here for solo Lady Gaga music.

Maybe because that album is a C2C after a facelift? We know she can sing jazz, we know she can sing.. but enough, she's made her point in 2014.

Oh the meltdowns. I love how DWAS has completely hammered your mental well-being the past 2 months

Only Ga can be both over AND under. Versatile queen!

OT: all of us (including me) are literally nobody to her.

is the GP ready for Solo Katy music? TVrCRZr.gif Please answer!!!

an album nobody asked for, for a film nobody asked for, starring a character nobody wanted her to play

doesn't sound like rocket science to me :mummy:

I somehow don't understand the logic that everything has to be a mega success just because a well-known artist is behind it. Neither the GP nor her fans wanted the jazz album. It's as simple as that. I myself think it's cool that she gives us side projects like her jazz albums alongside her pop albums and I don't care how side projects chart. We should be happy that we're getting more music than just the main albums.

Bruno is carrying about 90% of the streams for DWAS. Had it been a Gaga solo song it would be serving Stupid love.

I appreciate you trying to explain but not a very good explanation.
I was hoping for a more technical answer.

You have 11m people listening to a new song (released a month ago)
and then you have not even HALF a million people tuning in for songs released a week ago?

How does this work?

TVrCRZr.gif

Suprirse release literally MAKES people listen to the project more so...

---

One good explanation: The project it is associated with has bombed,
but then DWAS should bomb too, no?
